As it stands, as long as capitalistic forces make individuals have to choose between life and quality, life will always take priority.
And that's capitalism, not consumer habits.

If people were allowed access to the things they needed, they would have the financial bandwidth, possibly, to really go for that artistic of textile quality that people deserve to afford.
I'm never a fan of takes where the core premise is "everyone should individually pay more" and that includes a take I saw about private equity vs consumer behavior.
Much like the "everyone is 12 now" theory, Everyone Is Broke Now.
It has been indicated to me by longtime Nintendo employees, other lawyers, and folks who have found themselves on the opposing side of their work that Nintendo's lawyers are the lawyers other lawyers talk about to scare younger lawyers.

This is what happens when you get too nostalgic. All the worst hits keep playing
You know you’re at a Black funeral when:
Remember that time everyone went nuts and started buying huge quantities of gas over like a week time, putting it in trash cans and milk jugs and what have you until you couldn’t even find gas anymore?
That’s when we decided our family would always have at least one hybrid.
today is bandcamp Friday. a great day to support musicians because they don't take a cut of revenue and these streaming services do not care if we live or die

But tbf, that's very hard / a lot of work lol
This. Stop anthropomorphizing the tech.
The idea that blank slate characters are more relatable because people project themselves onto them is one of those just-so stories that refuses to die. It's the opposite! People relate to specificity!
one of the biggest errors in video games was when a bunch of people decided, apropos of nothing, that protagonists should be silent so the player can view themselves as the player character.
This will be a test re: whether the U.S. population knows who to be mad at.
There's an art asset website that doesn't specifically credit the individuals who made the assets, which is always a red flag to me. I wonder if we're thinking of the same source.
Black Jesus does not want you arguing with white people about whether or not a Nazi tattoo is disqualifying. They gave you their answer!
I'm inclined to be kinder to Joss Whedon than most, largely because, in the incredibly toxic media environment of the early 2000s, Firefly really was less misogynistic than many of its contemporaries. But it's not 2002 anymore. Its unusual elements are now common and its problems are now glaring.
React is so confusing
People who have never looked at a map are baffled at how confident Iran is about waging a ground war against the US.

The alternative, of course, is being able to find answer to those questions brought on by curiosity. But let's face it: that's never been easy and now they've made it harder.
