Same happened in our high school. No idea what actually occurred when they met up as the prevailing rumour was "this lad had a broken bottle & another lad got his lips cut off!!" Needless to say that didn't happen. I think social media has exacerbated things so the rumours seem scarier now.

That's really sad. I've lived in the Midlands, you'd think the sheer number of different cultures would teach people that the majority of their neighbours aren't dangerous :/
They don't want the working class to see we're being played. Luckily many of us do.
My partner has the same issue. He works in a factory and half his colleagues get all their "news" on this stuff from Facebook. So hard to get them to understand that they're going against their own best interests :/
