Genius to make a horror game on a narrow boat
Driving past the local costco, still a big queue at 20:40 and I saw one of the staff updating the price too

@lucyrigby.bsky.social what is your view on this, not least as an MP in a university town that supports creatives?
Congrats to the team @tangled.org!
Keir Starmer looking like he's wet the bed
Keir Starmer addressing the nation always kinda looks like he's come in to tell his ma he's wet the bed
Congrats!
This is pretty cool btw one.network
But it doesn't seem to list all the closures βΉοΈ
hah, I found a council page listing the match days. It hasn't been updated since last year π
GenAI output discussing how to detect road closures due to football matches
Pretty annoyed by the state of this.
It's 2026 and there is no API to get the road closures in the UK. The next best thing seems to be to look up the events for each stadium/venue/etc and deduce that roads will be closed nearby? sigh
Not yet, but I am thinking about it. Hence the question to see if others thought about similar things.
This is true. I wonder if it would be worth exploring even stricter compiled languages for this and where the limit is.
Out of the ones Iβve used, Haskell has definitely been the most βcompiles? then it worksβ for me. Iβm sure there are even more strict languages out there though.
Iβm thinking that all the language features to fight against verbosity are out the window now.
So I guess begin/end is back?
Ahh, see that's the thing. You're thinking about how to optimise programming languages for LLMs. But that's not what I'm after, I want to optimise for the humans that are using LLMs.
In that case, readability is king, wouldn't you say?
Well, assume we are creating a new language. Would you just create a frankenstein of the "average" that LLMs spit out?
I like to think that there are concrete things we could design for since writing code isn't a bottleneck (any longer). Perhaps designing a language that is as readable as possible?
Oh every day. Would be nice if they weren't charging me more than Β£1 per day for this...
TIL if you deploy to Google Cloud Run continuously, Google will happily store each time you deployed as an "artifact" and charge you money to store that.
I despise these kinds of things. Opaque bullshit that charges you money for no reason.
What would a programming language designed for the age of LLMs look like?
The new Gorillaz album is actually pretty awesome
Watching Drive to Survive and boy am I a big fan of Jonathan Wheatley. Especially compared to Flavio Briatore who really comes off as an asshole.
was considering doing this plot and luckily @colinmacpherson.bsky.social has already done it!
this is the main thing - the anti-Reform vote was so high that any split between labour and the Greens would have beaten Reform.
After implementing web streams in multiple runtimes, supporting them for years, talking with other implementers, dealing with issues... I think it's well past time we talked about something better blog.cloudflare.com/a-better-web...
Wow. It wasnβt even close. Congrats to Hannah Spencer.
Thatβs so awesome

NEW: Labour embroiled in dirty tricks row on eve of Gorton and Denton by-election.
The party has put out a leaflet saying "Tactical Choice" say voters should back them to beat Reform.
Only, Tactical Choice don't appear to exist.
