NехtFеst is almost over, so maybe this can help you dig up anything you might've missed.
Or maybe you're the kind of person that likes reading the opinions of some weirdo.
All this and more on some random Google document.

One of my queues was literally just 12 different low-effort games with titles that were all "_______ Simulator" and all using that same Unity asset bundle.

I think I'm finally getting to that point where Steam is starting to scrape the barrel for what to show me, so I might be releasing the final doc tomorrow.

Rhell: Warped Worlds & Troubled Times on Steam
Create unique spells by combining magical runes to solve puzzles your way. Transform objects, manipulate time, and discover the mysteries of a world where everyone has vanished, leaving only 12 people...
steampowered.com/app/3247030/
This one actually seems like it's gonna be neat.
It's a 3D Puzzle Adventure game where you construct spells from a list of effects to solve puzzles like pushing, launching, and freezing and stuff like that. Almost like programming.
It's also really cute.

The Eternal Life of Goldman on Steam
In this breathtaking platformer adventure, explore a vast hand-drawn Archipelago, inspired by ancient fables and depicted in classic frame-by-frame animation, and defeat a mysterious Deity.
steampowered.com/app/2254950/
People probably already know about this one too, but still.
Absolutely gorgeously-animated platformer using Ducktales-style mechanics.
The animations are silky smooth and everything on screen is amazing to look at.
I'm looking forward to this one.

steampowered.com/app/1626170/
I feel like people already know about this one at this point, but I'm mentioning it anyway.
JRPG themed around musicians and junk, in a pretty hokey way in most cases, but still fun. The BGM mixes based on your party.
The music itself is enough to give it a try tbh.

Platforming Metroidvania where you start out with Mario 2 mechanics, and gain mechanics from other NES games as the game's exploration abilities.
Art style and animation are incredibly cute. I love it.
Also they turned Flip into a punk girl which is a peak decision.

Also dear lord I played one singular horror game and suddenly my NехtFеst queue is like "Oh hey, they played one singular horror game. They must want to play all eleven-bazillion low-effort horror demos that got submitted to us all in a row now."
Just.... bruh.

steampowered.com/app/3886210/
I feel like A Game About Digging A Hole did the world a service in making folks do neat things with digging again.
It's a little simple on mechanics, but I kinda just lost myself in digging tunnels to go from landmark to landmark while the game told its story.

I'm so tired of gambling roguelites, but this one is just so good it doesn't even register with my genre fatigue.
I downloaded this a little before NextFest started and I keep going back to it.
I don't even need to describe it, it's right there on the label.

Skateboard racing, but you're driving a train.
You're doing skateboard tricks across post-apocalyptic Japan, but it's in a train.
I am terrible at this game and I don't care. It's insanely stylish and the music is amazing.

steampowered.com/app/2434600/
Another one that surprised me.
It's a city-builder where you're building dense urban areas in places with limited space, and a puzzle element of providing utilities to each building as you go with other objects.
The end result of each level is kinda gorgeous.

Time for a weird one.
A first-person game where you're playing support for your town's strongest Goblin warrior, pulling items from all around your town and throwing them to him to support his Final Fantasy style ATB fight.

I thought this was just gonna be a van-life game until I watched the trailer and saw you can build a big-ass base that just.... folds itself into two roof coolers when you start driving lol
Basebuilding survival without monster stress is nicer than I expected, though.

Voidling Bound on Steam
Hatch, evolve, and upgrade powerful space creatures in this action-packed sci-fi 3rd person shooter that reinvents the monster taming genre!
store.steampowered.com/app/2004680/...
Mission-based third-person shooter where you’re raising (and then possessing) monsters to go zapping tumor-monsters and collecting items.
It's silly seeing stats like fire rate and reload speed being applied to lil dudes that shoot goop outta their faces.

Either way, like I was saying before someone decided to be annoying about it:
I'm working on making my NехtFеst Recs document. Will probably try to post individuals here when I have a review that fits in a post, or a truncated one if I feel strongly enough about it.

Almost forgot that this place is turning more and more into the annoying commercial side of Twitter that I hated where social media managers will just randomly come up to you to try and solicit you for stuff even though you didn't even use a hashtag.

I still exist, I swear.
Between holidays being super busy and still having to raw-dog my ADHD, getting back into things has been slow at best.
There's been some good developments recently, though. Enough to say that I'll probably be able to relaunch close to my birthday, which is nice.

I know the last couple of things I've popped back in to talk about weren't stream-related, but rest-assured I'm still plugging away at the stuff to get back to streaming.
I still don't have a definitive comeback date yet, but ever since the Look Outside guide I've been getting lotsa good work done.

Oh right also according to what I could gather when I was looking stuff up, Elevator Thing was buffed in 2.0... almost as if they were trying to make it ill-advised to try doing all these achievements at once.
Many took it as a challenge lol

AKA It's not that bad of a fight in a normal run.... but kind of an RNG nightmare when trying to get an ending on Day 3 now that you HAVE to do a minimum of a Flawed Ritual.

Yeah on the 4th turn, the Elevator falls and you take a ton of damage and can get stunned if you survive.
Not great to deal with when you're trying to get an ending before Day 3 is over and you have like... 100 max HP and no good gear lol
