I’d like to ask every single New Yorker who’s remotely left of center to get actively involved in your local Democratic Party chapter with the goal of driving Schumer, Gillibrand, Hochul, Adams, Cuomo and all the other dead wood into retirement.
They all ran saying this was it, save democracy. But they can't even risk one fundraiser cycle, 20 months before an election, to show they have a pair.
We need a third party. Democrats are done. They can't help us, we can't help them.
I think some in the Senate have convinced themselves that the backlash to folding will be limited to “the left” and therefore ignorable.
Those people are deeply and profoundly misreading the moment and the stakes.

Authoritarians govern through fear, not legislation. The simple fear of what they would do in certain situations can push even the opposition to capitulate. That’s success for them.
We lose when we fold due to a hypothetical. We win when we challenge the REALITY that is hurting working people.
If Chuck Schumer enjoys a single day in NYC for the rest of his life without being told to go fuck himself at least once, then NYC will have utterly failed as a society.
@schumer.senate.gov You’re gambling with my life and the lives of my family and community, and they are not yours to gamble. I will fight for democracy but I will not fight with you bc you have decided it’s not worth it. You made yourself irrelevant. Step aside and let somebody else lead.
