theyβre foundational, just as critical as sync or data locality.
itβs a political and social stance. Itβs about shifting control: from remote servers and top-down central authorities deciding how data, workflows, and communities operate, to individuals and communities reclaiming that control and gaining autonomy. Seen this way, privacy and consent arenβt add-ons
For me, βlocal-firstβ isnβt just a technical architecture
@meri.garden Wanted to let you know I that after finding you and reading one of your articles recently, this quote from you have been living in my head rent free for months.

Does anyone else have this problem? Iβm more interested in how people think about it than in a specific app recommendation.
Many of these tasks belong exactly where they are (especially repo issues, since each repo has its own collaborators and visibility), but itβs getting hard to maintain a personal, unified view of what I actually need to work on.
Iβm noticing that my todo system has kind of exploded across tools: GitHub issues in different repos, markdown files in multiple accounts, Google Keep, Todoist, Notion, and some custom apps.
That's awesome, I'm going to have to try that in my CSS library. Would drastically simplify the variable juggling
Are you able to use the same colors for light and dark that way?
I guess that was after this youtube.com/shorts/21QHtybdwWc?si=y1emktK41KxojvkY

I decided to sit down and try to play some Diablo 4 again, since I'm bored and maybe it wasn't as shitty as I remember it.
Well, it's been an hour. I updated my system, logged it into the wifi, Went through 3 security codes
Now I'm waiting on a 3 hour game update.

Iβm joining the No Kings protest this week as a neighbor who believes in justice and the power of community. Weβre not a faceless crowd - weβre artists, teachers, parents, and caregivers channeling anger into hope and care. These moments matter. Join us. #NoKings
I look forward to seeing people out and about tomorrow, and maybe making new friends with the neighbors I have yet to meet.
Good neighbors make strong cities.
The best thing we can do is make it incredibly difficult for them. The easier we make it for people to see through the spin the better
The most radical thing we can do is show discipline.
Protest is a public invitation, not a private vent.
The audience isnβt the policeβitβs the country.
Donβt give Fox News content.
No kings. No violence. Just resolve.

I used to always find really cool new projects trending in projects. Now it's always just the same AI crap. What happened?
X-ray image of a severely twisted and contorted hand, suggesting strain or injury. Below, the text reads: 'EMACS β Not the standard editor,' humorously referencing the complex keybindings and learning curve of the Emacs text editor.
it's going to be the new emacs pinky
I stumbled across a really cool site earlier today for micro animations.
