As of tonight, licenses of trans people across Kansas are being invalidated en masse, enabling the overnight criminalization of an entire group of people for going about our lives. It’s often said you never know when you’re living through history, so let me assure you: that’s what’s happening now.
An older woman in my community was arrested for keeping $20 she found at a wal-mart self-check out. It is fake and I refuse to take any of it seriously ever again. We know how this system was built and continues to work.
I watched Songs from the Hole last night and was reminded by this beautiful film of the powerful healing folks take up in the face of machines of violence. And how it requires folks caring for one another. Moved to continue to seek ways of doing this in my worlds. www.songsfromthehole.com

NEW — ICE violence has spread well beyond Minneapolis, with agents landing in small cities like St. Cloud. I spoke with Alice Valentine, a local queer trans woman, who protested ICE on Monday and was pepper sprayed, beaten and jailed as a result, along with her girlfriend.

When it collapses it will seem sudden, all at once. But if something doesn't change soon this regime is finished. Keep striking, keep fighting, keep pushing where you can, keep building resilience and mutual aid, keep caring for one another and building the world you want to live in.
They are extremely unpopular, unable to significantly expand their forces (they are already poaching local police for ICE and reassigning significant percentages of FBI/ATF toward enforcement), lacking in organizational resilience and one bum ticker/blood clot away from total movement collapse
I wish for a world where Minneapolis does not have to repeatedly be a flashpoint for the most grotesque acts of fascist state violence. My heart breaks for the people of a city that deserves more than taxpayer-funded knees on necks and federal bullets through windshields.
