Thank you! It was fairly major brain surgery. He’s on the road to recovery and home after 10 days in medical care. Hoping for the best.

Was at the out of town at a hospital because my dad had surgery. Mom went to the coffee shop to order me a coffee but didn’t know what. Told the barista ”he’s a Portland looking guy.”

”Oh yeah. We who you’re talking about. Mustache? Red beanie? We know his order.”

Perks of being unique/cliché.

Playing D&D with my 4yo is extremely chaotic yes and-ing with minimal dice rolling and arbitrary rules (”roll a d20 6 times but your attack only works if you get a 10”)

And of course just doing the daily work of writing and preparing for when opportunities come.

So much of this (film/screenwriting) business is a waiting game followed a bunch of emails and calls. Followed by waiting.

When shows nail in the structure again, I think Slow Horses, Ponies, Pluribus are all doing it… then it is QUITE engrossing. I’m not drifting, I can’t have them in the background.

But getting our attention on one screen is not enough. If you realise the intent is to destroy us, then it makes sense.

As an improv comedy coach it is high praise when someone can say ”oh yeah, I can tell that is a team Luke coached. Can see his influence all over that team’s show”

Definitely recency bias mixing with my most recent time spent in hospitals.

But I feel like the Pitt has humanized healthcare workers more than any other show for me.

Yes I see the drama and writing of it. But it rings truer and sheds more light on it that other shows of the past.
