This is the type of unpredictable, dangerous, and frankly impulsive behavior I thought autonomous driving was supposed to avoid. And I can’t help but wonder, if that empty car had hit me head on or side swiped me, who would be held accountable for driving so recklessly?
Suddenly, in the MIDDLE of the intersection it signals left (literally a single flash) and turns SHARPLY left directly in front of me. Thankfully I had time to slam on the breaks.
We both pulled up to opposite ends of a four way stop controlled intersection. I was turning left and had my blinker on, it wasn’t signaling anything. After stopping it began to enter the intersection and then I did the same, intending to turn behind after it had cleared.
So I nearly just got into an accident with a fucking @waymo.bsky.social.
