The issue on GBC is it won't let a required item and a trap exist in the same location, i.e. you can't hide the key (for example) in a dresser and "protect" it with a bomb - if you try to place the bomb, it would vanish from your hands and be replaced by the key. It removes a big chunk of strategy.

One of these days, I should tinker around with some of its other ports and see if anything has the A/V polish of the C64 one with the better controls of the Master System port. It's a shame the GBC one had a game-breaking flaw in it, otherwise it probably could've been the winner.
It mostly doesn't hold up, but I'm constantly subconsciously stealing from it in practically every game I work on. The biggest missed opportunity it had was never being on the DS - they could've easily made it a download play cart like the 10-player Bomberman that came out around launch.

I know some of you might read this and say "these people can't be stupid! These people run companies! They make huge deals! They read all these books!" and my answer is that some of the stupidest people I've ever met have read more books than you or I will read in a lifetime. While they might be smart when it comes to corporate chess moves or saying "this product category should do this," none of these men - not Altman, Pichai or Nadella - actually has a hand in the design or creation of any of the things their companies make, and they never, ever have. Regardless, I have a larger point: it's time to start mocking these people and tearing down their legends as geniuses of industry. They are not better than us, nor are they responsible for anything that their companies build other than the share price (which is a meaningless figure) and the accumulation of power and resources. These men are neither smart nor intellectually superior, and it's time to start treating them as such.
I also recommend if possible to find whatever humor you can. Make fun of these people. Lampooning them doesn’t discount the seriousness of their actions or the destruction of their works - it undermines their power and status and names, and lightens the soul

Here's hoping Hamster's arcade deal with Konami extends to the console stuff, and I can get Nectaris on Switch eventually (since they own the Hudson stuff).
There are some 1980s-style translation quirks in the bios, but who cares. As far as bonus options, you get nothing other than the CRT goofball stuff and the rewind function. So now when I start out in Noto, I can cheese it when I get attacked before my first turn, har har.
Hamster's manual is somewhere between the NES and US PC manuals - less "flavor text" but a bit more thorough overall, with capsule bios of all 50 daimyo. I admittedly have some Stockholm syndrome/Pavlovian response to that music, so I've lost count of how many times I've bought this. That being said, I get that the SNES version on NSO is a tiny bit more accessible and available, but this has a respectable manual.
Unfortunately, living in toiletland, I missed out on Cutie Q... but I got pretty good at Super Pac-Man! (or "Cocaine Pac-Man" as I called it back then)
Gotta love the Museum vol. 2 pick. That was the first one I bought!
