Got my PS2 up and running. It's the release day version with the grill on the back of the fan SCPH-30003. Plays all disks and have just modified it with a hard drive. Now, all I need to do is tidy up my mess :)

Would PCI revisions cause compatibility. 1992 PCI 1.0, 1993 PCI 2.0, 1995 PCI 2.1, 1998 PCI 2.2. I seem to remember that my IDE 133 PCI card would not work with older revisions of PCI. I could be completely wrong on this, though.

Did you get any errors and corruption?? I am having that problem with my 32 mb MAX MEMORY memory card :(

Thanks. I will check it out when I have the time. Having to disasemble the PS2 is a fiddly and miserable experience 😆 and get the soldering iron out is a bit of a mission, lol + the money I spent on it and the time that I have wasted / put into it has left me not wanto to go back to it 😆

The same thing happened to me about 6 months ago. I purchased a untested PS2. It did not play disks, so I took it a part, gave it a full clean, no luck purchased a new laser, and still did not play disks. The power / restart / open disk tray button wire broken. I give up, lol.

I originally played the PS1 version as a kid. When my parents got a second-hand computer so my mum could do her college coursework. She got me it on PC as it was my favourite game 😀

I spent the day trying to get a thermal sensor display attached to my baby AT PC. Was quite a challenge as the led display did not fit into the turbo display slot. Then, trying to mount the thermal sensors onto the GPU & CPU was also difficult. Anyways, green is geforce 3, and red is CPU tualatin1.4
