Noem: U.S. Citizens Should be Prepared to Show Proof.
Party upset with Real ID Act over privacy concerns and because it would lead to a national ID card warns citizenry to be prepared to identify themselves via national ID card.
For no reason whatsoever I'm sure today we have the movie cover art for the film Star Trek: Insurrection. There's a large planet across the lower half of the picture as if we're in orbit above and we see the USS Enterprise flying away from us at warp towards open space. There's a large menacing face looking down at the starship and planet, cloaked in red beams of light. Across the top reads, "INSURRECTION."
The polls are officially open, Minneapolis!
Today you can choose a different course for our city. You can choose a mayor who cares as much about your city and your neighbors as I know you do.
We deserve better, Minneapolis. Rank me first when you vote today so we can do better β together.
Iβm asking everyone to vote for a new Mayor by Tuesday and rank all 3 of Omar Fateh, Dewayne Davis, and Jazz Hampton in whichever order you prefer. Iβve worked at City Hall for the last 4 years and from my personal experiences I believe the City desperately needs a new mayor.
Long thread π§΅
In these last few days, we're working hard to activate the winning coalition we've built over the last year. We need all the support we can get to make sure that we finish with a win. Whether its $5 or $500, anything you can give right now makes a difference.

Daily Dose of DeWayne #8
π§΅
Did you know that DeWayne has been hard at work advancing the rights of our transgender siblings for over 20 years? Heβs:
-Facilitated development of an award-winning Transgender Ministry at his first church in Minneapolis
I'm grateful to have the support of neighbors in every part of this city, people who are ready for leadership that reflects our shared values.
I hope you'll rank me first for Mayor of Minneapolis on November 4 because we deserve better.
After finishing this conversation with Minneapolis mayoral candidate @dewayneforminneapolis.com - I felt the stirrings of something unfamiliar in relation to recent American politics.
It was Hope.
I hope you read and share this interview.

8/ The part the public DOESNβT know is that in the firestorm after Lockeβs killing, Frey called Davis, then on vacation in Mexico. Davis β fully expecting Frey to discuss how to better control MPD β instead found the mayor pleading with him to fly home & stand with Frey at a news conference.
I hope @dewayneforminneapolis.com doesn't mind me retelling a story he told me when we first met last winter. I kept it to myself because he wasnβt telling it publicly but he mentioned it yesterday. Itβs one of the things thatβs leading me to rank him first. A hope-its-ok-and-I-get-right π§΅:
9/ Thatβs right β Jacob Frey wanted a βblack friendβ to run cover for him. Davis refused; the mayor acted like Davis owed him something for appointing him to the committee, in a cynically transactional calculation that twisted Davisβs volunteer public service into political fealty.
We deserve a mayor who will care for every neighborhood across Minneapolis. Our neighbors are invested deeply in their communities and they know what they need to thrive. We need leadership who is as committed to their success as they are.

Right now, Minneapolis can choose a different story than the one people are telling about us β we can choose to believe in the power of us.
Voting is open now until November 4. I hope you'll rank me first on your ballot because Minneapolis deserves better.
I had the opportunity to sit down with Eric Roper to share why I think Minneapolis has everything we need to tackle our biggest problems. I hope you'll take the time to read about what I know we can do together with compassionate, principled leadership.

re: jacob freyβs new ad taking credit for safe homes stable schools, he vetoed the budget that wouldβve increased its funding
Last week, my husband Kareem showed up early on the first day of early voting to vote for me β and got to ask others why they were excited to rank me first on the very first day.
Early voting is officially open, and I hope I can count on you to rank me β and to rank Jazz Hampton and Omar Fateh too!
We deserve a city that ensures everyoneβs safety by investing in communities, preventing harm, and making sure that when people call for help, they get the help they need.
We have everything we need to get this done β with the right principled and accountable leadership, we can do it together.
fiery speech from dewayne davis addressing dinner du nord, looking at photos of who was at the table and not recognizing the mayorβs friends from when he goes to the food shelf, contrasted with the encampments and shootings, who is being invited to the table?
dewayne the pastor in full effect π₯
The encampments that our city has seen are a reflection of our leadershipβs failing to adequately care for our neighbors. The folks living in encampments are human beings who are hit by the worst of our cityβs crises: hunger, housing instability, mental and chemical health issues, and violence. 1/
Title text: "Frey Again Refuses to Stand with LGBTQ+ Community" above a photo of a council action stamped with a note saying that the mayor refused to sign it within his given time frame. Mpls for the Many logo in the bottom corner.
Earlier this year, an individual contracted by the City stormed a City Council meeting and made threatening and homophobic remarks directed at Council Members.
Now that City Council halted giving this person additional funding, Frey is refusing to sign their action.
We can get to 1000. Please continue to share this to show the DFL that we mean MN is a trans refuge state.
Thank you to everyone who's signed our letter to the DFL so far! The response has blown me away! If you live in MN, are aligned with DFL principles, and would like to condemn transphobia within the party, please sign here: docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1F...
We deserve a city government that works for all of usβwhere decisions are made based on whatβs right for the people of our city, not based on who is most loyal to the mayor.
We deserve better.
Ok, storyβs out about DFL mayoral endorsement being revoked. Remember as you talk to folks:
- Fateh had nothing to do with faulty tabulation
- Frey finished with 30%, pathetic for an incumbent
- Maybe pay attention to the guy actually hurt, who came out of nowhere to grab 20%: DeWayne Davis.
PSA: go apply the urgent security update to your Apple devices. Donβt wait. Do it right now
βLook at a place like Minneapolis [β¦] Theyβre unsafe, theyβre violent, you cannot use the public parksβ - Stephen Miller
I wish a very happy βfuck youβ to everyone who thought throwing trans people under the bus was going to stop these lunatics
Their goal has *always* been the eradication of the entire LGBTQ+ community, and theyβre not gonna stop at Obergefell either
This is why we fight for *everyone*
Mpls for the Many logo with the following text below, "The truth is: women, people of color, community leaders, public servants, and front-line workers have been leading the fight for housing justice. And we are being publicly erased by a Mayor who continues to enter his individual leadership as responsible for results that he did not lead, accelerate, or deliver." Attributed to "Hennepin County Commissioner Irene Fernando" next to a photo of Irene Fernando.
Mayor Frey has been busy on the campaign trail taking credit for other peopleβs work.
And recently, Hennepin County Commissioner Irene Fernando took some time to set the record straight and to ask Mayor Frey to take meaningful action to back up his words.
