Watching @dylanbeatt.ie talk about CSS and I suddenly realise that CSSASM needs to exist, where the text keys and values become bytecodes; smaller, easier to parse, and we can fix at least some of the historical mistakes.

yay, i helped π
gd it I forgot the #HorrorWritersChat tag
Cats. The correct answer is cats. I read the prompt out loud and @eli.holderness.dev and I both said "cats" at the same time.
It's cats.
I just updated my banner image to a slightly currenter one, if it makes no difference then I shall spend the rest of the week in a state of utter despair

Picture of Marjane Satrapi alongside a quote from her. The quote reads: The world is not divided into countries. The world is not divided between East and West. You are American, I am Iranian, we don't know each other, but we talk together and we understand each other perfectly. The difference between you and your government is much bigger than the difference between you and me. And the difference between me and my government is much bigger than the difference between me and you. And our governments are very much the same... - Marjane Satrapi, Iranian-French graphic novelist
Thinking about this quote from Persepolis creator Marjane Satrapi again.
Yet more Claude talk and experimentation and such

I was the first person to call my Congresswoman's office about this bill. It was fast and easy, and the aide I spoke to was pleasant--and horrified when she heard what they're trying to get away with. Please. Help protect our trans siblings.

Just jumping on another stream with @dylanbeatt.ie to make Claude write some code based on the spec Claude wrote last week. Come see!

The soaring prices of D20s.
Seems like @rendle.dev and my ad-hoc "wtf is Claude Code" series is getting some traction, which is heartening.
We'll be on Wed + Thu + Fri this week, starting around 2pm UK time, live on Twitch (twitch.tv/dylanbeattie) and on YouTube (youtube.com/dylanbeattie). Tune in and chat - or catch up later.

Had a quick look at this today, need to do dig into it properly. Love that the talk is inspiring people like this β€οΈπ₯
The discipline in this case includes resisting the urge to rush everything in one go.
And I use separate system prompted Personas (personae?) for the different phases, e.g. analyst/architect/dev/qa etc.
You can do SDUF and more iterative development if you break the thing into chunks. Recent example: a Silero VAD library as a self-contained change within a larger project. I use OpenSpec.dev and it works in "changes" where each has an explore and plan phase of its own.
There are things that nudge you towards more discipline, like the "spec-driven development" idea and the frameworks that support it. I find myself doing more upfront thinking and planning now, where often I used to jump in and start coding.
who tf is Jenrick? Has the UK media spent the last 30 years doggedly reporting his every move in breathless detail and asking his opinion on every-fucking-thing? No? Then no.
No lies told
Fear of missing... in?
Going live on Twitch, showing @dylanbeatt.ie how to use OpenSpec for spec-driven development with Claude

I'll push some to GitHub in the next day or so
