Living to fight another day! 💪
Gotta get this FrankenPHP tutorial done 🫡
MRI day! And it’s a big one! Is my recent physical deterioration due to tumor growth that will quite likely kill me? Or something else (unexpected brain swelling)
Me, 2 days after falling and catching myself with my teeth. Walking has gone to shit but we’re debugging today 💪
Thanks ❤️. It only encourages me more
By searching their names + obituary, discovered that 2 more GBM (my cancer) online / phone friends are gone. They were both beautiful people i barely knew, but they each meant so much to so many. FU GBM!!!
If you’re in need of a veteran Symfony dev, ping me! I’ve got someone!
New dashboard just shipped to @symfonycasts! Let us know what you think!
That’s even more insane. Livecomponents is so powerful, but under-known
This is built with symfony and LiveComponents 🤯. That means zero JavaScript written and no build system. Amazing how far we’ve come worldbuilder.sylvainblondeau.dev
Today I turn 41.
Cons: have this mean-ass brain tumor
Pros: unlike last year, I’m at home. Also, my MRI from Monday is stable and I watched my baby cousin get married last weekend
Plenty to be grateful for
Hidden gem!
@symfonycasts.com @weaverryan.bsky.social I've been working with Symfony and Doctrine for years, I just discovered a fantastic (and basic) thing thanks to you 😲
This will save me many methods in the repositories 😂

Lost a cancer buddy this week: a father to 3 (including Beckett’s good friend) and warm soul: www.mlive.com/news/grand-r...
Fuck cancer and tbh I gotta get out and walk more now that spring is here… I’m slowing down and that’s unacceptable 💪
Result of the MakerBundle Symfonycasts hack day: github.com/symfony/make...
It's always been my dream to have a business where your support of us translates into support for Symfony. I addition to supporting Symfony financially directly, I love that we're able to do things like this - thank you!
MRI was promising (not a disaster as was possible): tumor is getting killed and has receded back from my corpus callosum. Translation: the trial is still working! Caveats: this can’t cure the cancer & won’t work forever.
But screw that! Today is a day of celebrating! Not dead or immediately dying 💪
MRI results from Monday are unclear: will find out more tomorrow. Now back to work! 😇💪
Internal Symfonycasts hack day next Friday on MakerBundle: CI needs help, need to simplify to ease maintenance, property hook changes on make:entity & more. My cancer has not been kind to Maker, time to revitalize & make(r) it sustainable 🙃
Getting a blood transfusion with 2 pair of glasses
Treatment makes my hemoglobin go to the toilet and energy plummets (all expected). Solution? Become a vampire 🧛♂️
No real rides for me this time, but thankful to be with Leanna and watch Beckett explore Harry Potter world at Universal
Treatment tutorial recording, lunch with Leanna and a nap. Feeling pretty damn lucky
SymfonyDay Chicago is starting! SO many people have come to nerd out about Symfony and support us. It’s crazy! ❤️
Before things went to shit 1 year ago, i was tech editor on a book written by a friend, professor & long-time Symfony evangelist. Got this in the mail: a total surprise. Also: fantastic cover art from @nostarchpress.bsky.social
The @SymfonyCasts team creating their badges for live.symfony.com/2025-chicago/ - almost everyone violated company policy
Never mind: had a nurse pull an IV out early and then drove straight to the airport. Now on the plane to UNC, return tomorrow and drive straight back to that sweet sweet IV. Why? Cause I’m going to LIVE you sillies 😘
May (hopefully) travel tomorrow to UNC as I search ravenously for a clinical trial that’ll take me ASAP. Ideally CAR T, but we’re more beggars than choosers. Also trying to get into CAR T at MGH in Boston and at UPenn. Any tips or contacts are appreciated!
The pressure occurs on all cells, but the idea is that cancer cells are so hyperactive that it’s like they’re on mile 20 of a marathon: give them a push and they’ll tip over. Give that same push to a healthy cell and they shake it off
In Chicago this week with my 2 best friends getting weird things infused that’ll punch my cancer in the nose. Very strange week of avoiding antioxidants and infusing a pro oxidant purposely to cause chaos / pressure.
Love this guy and proud to be part of Symfony!
