Three Cast Members for Knight of the Seven Kingdoms Season 2 Announced Variety reports that three of the main roles for the in-production 2nd season of A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms have been cast. One of the names was leaked awhile ago, I believe, but the other two seem new to us—and two, at least, are exciting to us.   read on >>>

I admit I am a strange bird. Everyone wants Aegon the Conqueror, Robert's Rebellion, or even Snow. However, all I can think of is Westeros+Crusades+Reconquest with Daeron vs. the Dorne. The Young Dragon shall smash the horde! @westeros.org #GameOfThrones

Beau Willimon Reportedly Working on Game of Thrones Movie Script Via Page Six Hollywood, an interesting bit of news has come out that screenwriter Beau Willimon (House of Cards, Andor) is working on writing a script for a Game of Thrones-related film. Page Six Hollywood speculates that it’s an Aegon the Conqueror film, which is interesting given recent news that the Conquest was being developed for both film and television. We initially thought all of this was tied to HBO keeping room open to see what fit the material best, but that was with the belief that Mattson Tomlin was the writer developing it. read on >>>

A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms Season 1 Soundtrack Hot on the heels of the finale of A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, WaterTower Music—Warner Bros. in-house label—has announced that the season 1 soundtrack, composed by Dan Romer, is now available to stream from multiple sources such as Spotify, Soundcloud, Tidal… and Youtube. We contacted Romer after the first episode, asking particularly about the title of the closing music that impressed us so much and whether a soundtrack would be released, and he did say he hoped it’d be out quite soon. Looks like he delivered. And speaking of that episode 1 final track, our favorite from the show, it turns out it’s titled “The Luck is Ours Alone.” Of course! read on >>>

Final Episode Review for A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms We’re back one last time (almost!) to discuss the finale of the first season of A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, and we certainly have some thoughts about the episode. As we discuss at the end, we are considering scheduling a live stream to go over the season a last time, but we’ll see how feasible that is—been quite a few years since we last did a live stream.

House of the Dragon Teaser Trailer And here it is, the teaser that HBO is launching to announce the June release of the third season of House of the Dragon. Unusually (at least to my knowledge), they have made it a public premiere event ahead of time, publicizing exactly when it would launch.

RSC Announces World Premiere of Game of Thrones: The Mad King After five years of gestation, the long-in-the-works theatrical production based on the events of the tourney at Harrenhal has come to fruition. Per the press release we just received: The Royal Shakespeare Company (RSC) today announces the world premiere of Game of Thrones: The Mad King, a new play based on the novels by George R. R. Martin, adapted by Duncan Macmillan and directed by Dominic Cooke. Game of Thrones: The Mad King will have its world premiere at the Royal Shakespeare Theatre in Stratford-upon-Avon in Summer 2026. Priority booking will go on sale from 14 April 2026 with public booking to be announced in April 2026. For early access, visit rsc.org.uk/join to become an RSC member. More information will be announced later in the year. Full details of the upcoming RSC season will be announced on Thursday 26 February 2026. See the rest of the press release below, but all we can say is wow. Incredibly exciting to finally see things come to fruition… and it explains, I think, why George spent a deal a time in the UK recently (well, that, and season 2 of A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms being under way).   read on >>>

The Dreaming Spires It was Matthew Arnold who first dubbed Oxford as “the city of dreaming spires.” It really is a magical place.  A place with strong ties to fantasy.   Philip Pullman, Alan Garner, William Morris, Diana Wynne Jones, Neil Gaiman, and of course the Inklings, among them C.S. Lewis and J.R.R. Tolkien.   A grand company.  Understandably, I […]

Stuff happens. I think moreso than anything, it's the juxtaposition of Dunk's expectation that the smallfolk were just there to see him die, & in reality they were for him, that is the part that's so stirring. But I can see how that might have been deprioritized to make things seem more against him.

Had a nice response from Dan Romer, composer for #AKotSK, when I asked if there were plans for an official season 1 soundtrack release, writing that he hopes we'll have it very soon. Fingers crossed @hbomax makes it happen.

Episode 5 features this scene of a young Dunk in a dark wood. When we first saw it, Linda & I were reminded of the work of a famous Swedish painter & illustrator, John Bauer. Wonder if Director of Photography, Gustav Danielsson, had the same thought... #AKotSK

Hi r/GameofThrones! I'm Ira Parker, the showrunner of A Knight of The Seven Kingdoms. Ask me anything!

Ira Parker is doing an AMA at /r/gameofthrones and will answer questions tomorrow. This question on why the Steely Pate line is missing is worth upvoting: www.reddit.com/r/gameofthro... #AKotSK
