I'm not sure what your point is here. Last Census data I saw had the current population of people of Vietnamese ancestry around 19,000 in the New Orleans metro area, and they have a very strong cultural presence here.

This is exactly right. The Onion quietly left Twitter a month ago and... our weekly subscribers went up. It's because we're doing well here, on Instagram and on YouTube.

As a business, being on Twitter is somewhere between useless or detrimental, unless you're selling boner pills.

i am on bsky, which i use pretty lightly, mostly to see what the remnants of the old new orleans and literary twitters are up to. But it's not IMPORTANT and that's fine, and that so many people think the small pieces of dumb shit website must be IMPORTANT is deeply weird

but there is a whole class of people, especially in political journalism, who think a "small little pieces of dumb shit online" website is THE MOST IMPORTANT THING and they are addicted to the drams that occur on the small little pieces of dumb shit website, so they just can't let it go

i like the "write small little pieces of dumb shit online" format more than 90 percent of humans but it is entirely possible we do not in fact need a site that does this, you know?
