If you hate to write, don't write.

And here's my idea about reading:

If you can't read, STFU about writing.

"Human writing often includes some clunky phrases, like this passage from Cormac McCarthy's Blood Meridian, caused by the author's aversion to punctuation: 'As well ask men what they think of stone.'"

This is the stupidest g.d. thing I have read all day.

They're on to us, comrats. The time for subterfuge is over. Activate the beaver battalion. THIS CITY WILL BELONG TO THE GATORS BEFORE THE YEAR IS OUT.

either New Orleans' infrastructure is ancient, broken, uncared-for, in need of billions in repairs -- OR a group of mole/nutria people revolutionaries who live underground are sabotaging the pipes.

I know what I believe.

my old thesis advisor used to respond to people who said “hey at least they’re reading, that’s better than not reading” with “no it isn’t” and I never agreed with that but maybe I do now?

it’s between 5 and 6 and the sun remains high in the sky shedding its garish glare on us, in these times we cannot even enjoy the early reprieve of dusk

What's your point?

28.02.2026 16:47 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0

I'm not sure what your point is here. Last Census data I saw had the current population of people of Vietnamese ancestry around 19,000 in the New Orleans metro area, and they have a very strong cultural presence here.

This is not a competition.

I’m on this website because 1. I have fun here and the vast majority of my friends are here and 2. posting my little jokes on here does not benefit Zartog the Heart-Eater Who Feasts on Screams, unlike Threads or X/Twitter

There’s a fundamental divide on social media these days between “those who primarily view it as a broadcast medium” and “those who primarily view it as a way to talk to people,” and I’m very much the latter - as are most people on this website.

Good! Stop taking places on the Internet seriously! How do you think we got into this mess in the first place?
