Finally going to read the end to Foglio’s Angel and the Ape. Really wish we got some sequels to this.

To Byrne’s credit he does try to cover his utter inability to draw children in this issue by most of the time them being cloaked or horrifically mutated.
Skyhook did not grab me as a villain.
Remember the days when supporting cast used to have a supporting cast?
Instinctively I am going to trust later writers to handle the Maggie Sawyer/Toby relationship better than Byrne.
I wish Ma and Pa could have lied slightly better than Clark and Superman were raised together as stepbrothers. Haha
Because of this skit, whenever I see this Flash by Alex Ross I can only think of Dan Akroyd.
And not one Millennium crossover I’ve ever cared about.
Love DCAU Toyman, but in comics i still think I’m good for a one issue story every couple of years.
I can’t wait to see how long the plot line of Lex losing his had to Kryptonite poisoning lasts.
Yes, you can throw him into any genre, and just have some fun with it. Play to each guest’s strengths.
Silver Banshee is definitely my favorite new villain of this era so far. She has a really cool look and power, and I like that there is still some mystery to her.

Now for the writer/artist’s barely disguised fetish.
Wolfman/Ordway calling their shot like Babe Ruth for Superman creators.
Of all the barnacles to scrape off of Superman lore, Clark dating a mermaid wasn’t one of them?
Pickleball tournament does not feel as dated as any time the Archie kids have looked at a smartphone.

A cute moment with Superman and Jason Todd. (Interactions with those two can probably be counted on one hand.)
Just because they’d be covering a lot of the same territory, where was Black Lightning during all this?
Clark, you’ve seen Mannequin, you can make this work.
After Brainiac, Mxy is probably my favorite Superman villain
Some writers just fit better with other characters.
Me too. All I know is Scooby gets possessed at one point by Spectre and demands “Rengence!”
Yes, I’m religious. I believe in the Holy Trinity.
Yeah, it was pretty bleak, and glad Starlin was not the one to take over Superman.
Being honest, not in love with Arthur Adams’ art in this issue, but I do like when you can credibly put Superman in a horror story.
Impossible blog project: a compilation of all Barney Fife cameos in comics, and there’s at least one as a recent as this year.
Best dinosaur
For one of Jurgens’ earliest outings, I don’t quite see his style yet, and that may be because of inking.
