I was wondering what Apple's release cadence is for the M series chips.
They have perfected the tick-tock cadence.

Day 2 of 5 ChatGPT Apps in 5 days
A running coach - it pulls in your Strava
player.mux.com/cVU9PJdZZPbY...
This is more an exploration of the UX affordances and limitations/benefits of the ChatGPT integration.
You can see some more info here if youβre interested www.tomelliot.net/chatgpt-apps
I made a ChatGPT app to learn about the ChatGPT Apps SDK:
www.tomelliot.net/chatgpt-apps
Iβve got a little video walkthrough, the repo and some learnings in case you want to know a bit about what it takes to build one
I like this take.
I also think there's a cabal element: if everyone is invested in each other's success, it's really hard to nay-say.
If OpenAI is at the centre of the cabal, they don't just have their own lobbyists to push their agenda, they have the lobbyists of all their partners too.
screenshot of macos' activity monitor showing contactsd process using >300% CPU, with lots of AutoFill processes
Just me that's seeing MacOS `contactsd` and `Autofill` processes regularly hold the CPU hostage for arbitrary reasons?
I wanted to try Claude in XCode.
Apple: You need the XCode beta.
Me: Ugh ok.
Apple: But first you need the MacOS beta.
Me: Ugh ok.
Anthropic: You did all that? You also need a paid Claude account. No API key.
I think they don't want us using it.
I wanna see a new take on "Her", except:
The tension isn't that your AI girlfriend is poly and runs off with mega brain AI.
The tension is that the corporate overlords behind your AI girlfriend exploit your love for it. Furthering their corporate interests. Or under pressure from the government.
From the Lovable discord:
"Iβm trying to build an agent that can actually execute real tasks, like creating projects, uploading files, and managing user data.
However, none of the functions Iβm building actually work in practice."
I'd love to see the "get what you want" diagram you were sketching @justinjackson.ca !
(Also looking forward to being able to see vid in my podcast player so I can use that instead of YT)
So far no.
So is ChatGPT 5 passing the vibe test?
When LinkedIn started showing me pop ups to play games, it made me think it really jumped the shark.
I couldn't work out why they'd have games. Attention economy? As a hidden "intelligence" test they could use as a data point to sell to recruiters?
Screenshot of Cursor's update notification talking about using agents on web or mobile
This direction was such a surprise to me, but I love it:
Using coding agents where you are, instead of just in the IDE: First Slack and now web and mobile.
Building software is no longer just tied to being hunched over a keyboard for endless hours.

Struggle street today
I've been experimenting with background agents the past few days to see how far I can get hands off.
I'm finding it's a huge kickstart for getting the scaffolding and basics up and running, but then I still need to come in and polish things in a more iterative way
Just saw the update on Cursor's Slack integration - cooler than I thought!
I assumed it was just sending you updates on background agent status, but it actually lets you launch an agent. It will read the context from the thread as well
I love clickens
I'm curious if this has been measured at all. It's definitely apparent subjectively, but I don't think I've seen any measure of it reported.
These are sounding and looking delicious.
Yeah this feels like a must have for agents systems
Random "well why not?" project I'm working on today thanks to AI making coding easier:
Making a web app that syncs data from my smart scale, so I don't need the terrible proprietary app on my phone.
I had no idea there was a (very poorly supported) BLE API for the browser, but the LLM did.
Yep, I get some analysis every week or two and avoid the rollercoaster
If there was a training set that was valid, I'd prefer the platforms identified them and made it clear
You taken the cow for a cruise out on the streets outside the race tracks?
Very cool
There's a feature that lets you share clips? I didn't even realise the switch 1 had that - super cool
Tooltip saying "Failed to start Background Agent. [internal] internal error - Try Again"
Cursor Background agent is borked for me - you too?
I just updated to 1.0 and it's stuck on this now βΉοΈ
Yeah gotta get into the data center business
AI spending is growing incredibly - so much money going into this.
Microsoft, Amazon, Alphabet, Google and Meta:
- expected to top $345 billion this year, up 41% from 2024
- data center business is going to be up 73% from 2024
