This time around, I'm simulcasting to YouTube just for the sake of having higher-quality archives. There's no way the attitude on YouTube's ever going to change until they get their streaming ecosystem built up enough to attract more than jerks or people who hate Twitch's player.
If I stream with a webcam, people on YouTube will relate me to dorky comedy characters like Ed Helms in The Hangover.
If I stream with a vtuber, people on YouTube will talk about how it's uncanny and doesn't look natural to them.
The common thread is YouTube will always have worthless commenters.

Anyways, I hope this is one of those takes where I'm just an old man yelling unfounded concerns to the sky, everything stays as-is or gets better, and I'm proven laughably wrong. I just worry when large brands in streaming look to take a bigger piece of the pie in this already difficult space.
I also hope GDQ TV doesn't pull viewership away from the Hotfix, which already causes some of my aforementioned concern. Hotfix shows are *great* for spotlighting runners. I gained some of my best viewers after the 2022 Phasmo Game Masters episode.
I don't want that sort of discovery to be lost.
Don't get me wrong, streamers are always indirectly competing with each other -- whether or not we want to be -- for viewers and attention. We're always going to have to try and step our game up.
I hope no speedrunner streaming live run attempts loses viewers to GDQ TV, but it's always possible.
I have mixed feelings on GDQ TV.
As a viewer? It's incredible. It's a great idea and I'm going to enjoy seeing old runs I missed or barely remember.
As a streamer? I'm conflicted. Most 24/7 channels worry me, because that's high-quality curated content we're now competing for viewers with.
