Secretary Noem’s overdue removal from the Department of Homeland Security is a step toward accountability, but it is only the beginning.
At this week’s oversight hearing in the Senate, I pressed Secretary Noem on the lies she spread by calling Alex and Renee domestic terrorists and the wrongful stops and arrests of American citizens.
Under the leadership of Secretary Noem, the constitutional rights of people across our state were violated and two Minnesotans were killed. Alex Pretti and Renee Good should be alive today.
Breaking: Kristi Noem is out.
Minnesotans stood up for Alex and Renee and so many others.
And if anyone ever asked why we have committee hearings and demand answers….
Congressional Republicans let the health care tax credits expire — and now premiums have more than doubled for millions of Americans this year.
We should be making things more affordable for families, not more expensive.

After over 60 years of connecting commuters and visitors between Minnesota and Wisconsin, replacing the Blatnik Bridge will bolster safety and increase reliability.
The Department of Transportation must release funding for this project so it can move forward without delay.
Across Minnesota, DFLers are showing up for their neighbors and are ready to get to work. Great to be in Woodbury and Maple Grove to join so many working to build a better future for our state.
At the hearing under oath Secretary Noem denied calling Alex Pretti a domestic terrorist. Here’s what she actually said after he was killed by her agents.
Today I voted to pass the resolution to rein in the President. He unilaterally launched a war in the Middle East with no imminent harm to the U.S. when he did it. Iran should never have a nuclear weapon, but the Administration has no strategic path forward.
As a leader on the Ag Committee, I know some of the biggest advancements in farming are happening right here in Minnesota. Pivot Bio's move to the Twin Cities shows our state is leading the way for the future of ag innovation.

Wishing a very happy birthday to my friend and colleague Tina Smith! I’m fortunate to work alongside Tina every day for the great state of Minnesota. 🎂🎉
ICE brought chaos to our streets.
Instead of focusing on violent criminals, they pulled over off-duty local law enforcement officers.
Sgt. 1st Class Nicole Amor of White Bear Lake, MN was killed in Kuwait while serving our country. She was an avid gardener who made salsa from peppers and tomatoes in her garden with her son. She also loved rollerblading and bicycling with her daughter. Here she is with her husband Joey. 🙏
John and I join countless people across Minnesota in mourning Sgt. First Class Nicole Amor of White Bear Lake, who made the ultimate sacrifice serving our country. Our hearts are with her family, loved ones, and all those in our armed forces.
A U.S. citizen. A Hmong elder. No criminal record. Agents rammed his door, dragged him outside in freezing weather — even though the person they were looking for had been in jail for years. Secretary Noem still won’t say it was wrong.
When I spoke with Alex Pretti's parents, they said that Secretary Noem calling him a domestic terrorist was one of the most hurtful things they could imagine being said about their son.
Today, Secretary Noem refused to apologize or take any accountability for her actions.
Under Secretary Noem, ICE has violated our constitutional rights and defied court orders. Two of my constituents are dead.
Secretary Noem just admitted there are still 650 ICE agents in Minnesota, still outnumbering sworn Minneapolis police officers.
ICE must get out now.
I was honored to join the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community of Minnesota for their beautiful Iftar.
Breaking bread together during Ramadan with people from many faiths and backgrounds—including Democrats and Republicans at this Iftar—reminds us that there is still more that brings us together as a nation.
I met with some of the incredible workers at Rosenbauer in Wyoming, MN, one of the world’s leading fire truck and firefighting equipment manufacturers.
Investing in manufacturing and our workforce strengthens the companies that equip our first responders. It also creates good-paying jobs across MN.
Major silver medal celebration for Cory and Korey in Duluth. We thank them for an unforgettable Winter Olympics.
Between the bagpipes and kids with curling brooms — now that’s an entrance! 🥌
Nearly three days after the initial strikes on Iran, the Administration has still not laid out a strategic plan or path forward.
The American people deserve answers.
“That’s the way it is.”
This is how the President talks about the loss of our brave servicemembers.
These are heinous crimes and I have been working across the aisle to make it easier for law enforcement to hold perpetrators accountable. My bipartisan bill, the Take It Down Act, was signed into law and criminalizes sharing or threatening to share non-consensual intimate images.
Small businesses across Minnesota are rebuilding. Showing love matters — but so does investing in our communities by shopping local.
I stopped by LomaBonita in Richfield and was glad to see long lines at this new neighborhood grocery store.
Men’s and Women’s Olympic hockey champions on SNL. 🇺🇸🏒
“It was just gonna be us, but we thought we’d invite the guys too.”
A gold medal–worthy line from Captain Hilary Knight.
John and I are holding the families of the American service members killed and wounded in action in our thoughts today. We honor their bravery and sacrifice. 🙏
My statement on the strikes in Iran:
Thankful for all of Cindy McCain’s incredible work as the Director of the World Food Programme. She supported our farmers at home while feeding families across the world. I know her dedication to protecting the most vulnerable at a time of increasing conflict will continue.
After working a night shift in the pediatric ICU, Teyana Gibson Brown was jolted awake when federal agents used a battering ram to break into her home and detain her husband without a judicial warrant.
Another example of ICE violating the rights of Minnesotans.
