Terrier mix Rocket drinks from the clear, shallow water at the edge of Achenloch lake in Kaiserwinkl, Tirol, standing on his familiar rocky outcrop. The dog is on a leash, tail raised, as he leans down to the water. Golden-brown grasses and bare winter branches frame the scene on the left, while the calm lake reflects the overcast sky. Snow patches dot the distant shoreline, with bare trees and forested hills visible through the winter haze.
Hey, we're back!

Running Elasticsearch on a Synology DS925+ NAS
Setting up Elasticsearch 9.3 + Kibana on a Synology DS925+ by running Docker inside an Ubuntu VM to get seccomp support.
Wrote up how I got Elasticsearch 9.3 + Kibana running on my Synology DS925+. DSM kernel lacks seccomp, so the fix is Docker inside an Ubuntu VM. Full steps + gotchas (VGA, LVM, permissions): walterra.dev/blog/2026-02...

node-es-transformer 1.0.0
A small update to my Elasticsearch data ingestion library with dual-version support and TypeScript definitions.
Thought this side project I kept around (node-es-transformer) could be blessed with a v1.0.0 after years in beta. Now supports both ES 8/9 with cross-version reindexing. Built most of it using pi-coding-agent with Claude Opus 4.5 (and some swearing). walterra.dev/blog/2026-02...

eddo v0.8.0 comes with lots of little quality-of-life UI improvements and this new project view. uses graphviz under the hood for the layout and react flow to render it. github.com/walterra/edd...

I made a map of 3.4 million Bluesky users - see if you can find yourself!

I've seen some similar projects, but IMO this seems to better capture some of the fine-grained detail

To help me getting started, I created bsky2masto, a python CLI that scans your Bluesky follows, finds Mastodon/Fediverse handles, and writes a ready-to-import Following CSV. github.com/walterra/bsk...

A 10-year-old terrier mix named Rocket wearing a plastic cone (Elizabethan collar) squeezes through a beaded doorway curtain on a tiled floor, bathed in warm golden sunlight. A stainless steel food bowl filled with kibble sits in the foreground, just out of reach.

screenshot of eddo teaser page, a todo app with GTD heritage for developers and thei AI coding agents.
Lot's of fuzz at the moment on task management for coding agents. I wonder if enforcing a certain type of this on users baked in is the right approach? pi-coding-agent leaves this entirely up to extensions, way less opinionated and flexible! eddo is my take on this: eddoapp.com

OGame - Wikipedia
agent orchestration reminds me so much of OGame: send ships → wait → see if you raided successfully or got intercepted. agents: send a prompt → wait → see if the agent built what you wanted or went off course. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/OGame
