@studiotarga
I do a little bit of everything, Pixel art, TCG alters, you name it! Recently absorbed into making my own RPG so follow for updates on that i guess! Play Echoes of Aromia here https://play.unity.com/en/games/a4564e13-4006-46f2-b1a3-b01943245eaa/aromia

Does my game need swimming? No. Do i have literally any water content planned? No. Did i add swimming anyways? Yes. Will i be shoehorning water content into a story that's been written for a decade? Yeah!
#gamedev #indiedev #pixelart
Nearly finished with the footstep system, now supports shallow water too! Kind of procrastinating on swimming mechanics though... Which i really want despite having 0 water content planned.

I'm dying here, the combination of the stupid ms paint portrait and the sentence from what is meant to be a calm and collected knight is just killing me, even if i end up selling only 7 copies it'l be worth it.
Squirrel swarm encounter is coming along. Figured it's not fun to just fight melee critters the whole time, so how about they pelt you with acorns and you have to fight 50?

I finally figured it out! A way to have a proper diagetic help system. Hooking up pixelcrusher's dialogue system to the base M2D system for quests, i can get a condition to have specific dialogue if you're on a specific quest, so your companions can chime in and help if you want them to! #gamedev
There. I couldn't stand seeing him without a portrait this long.
These are really cool! What are your prices?
Finally done setting up my weather manager, talks to a cloud scroller and my rain and snow scripts and time manager to start up scheduled weather which ramps up slowly, creates more clouds and even causes lightning. now i just need to tweak the visuals a bit. Here's the timelapse!

nooooo thats awful, which ambernic did you have?
oh same (i love my ayn thor so much) but having all of these old gameboys in nice matte black on display is thrilling.
i so recommend restoring these bad boys, I've been engrossed in buying custom shells and cleaning out the electronics, it's completely worth it. Like 20 bucks from xtremerate
Unity!
It's legitimately the best thing i've ever drawn, why would you ever take any other official bounty when you have the best, super official bounty ever?
Had some incredible feedback from a playtest over at app.weplaytestgames.com, and one of the big things has made me realize the current bounty board sucks.
So here's a small work in progress of a diagetic bounty board you can actually click and check bounties on!

It works! I've also managed to fix the crappy issue making the dialogue box and portrait box misalign completely on the web build, so that's updated now too. Next up im going to need a nice portrait for our new little knight friend.
Concepting some mockups in photoshop for a lighter UI, I think it's time to outgrow my 5 minute UI soon, but i still haven't quite decided how i'm doing the portraits yet, on one hand i want to keep everything pixel art, but on the other? i kind of like how this looks.

Oh my god this is so adorable
Found an ADORABLE book UI on itch by HumblePixel, and not only that but i've finally revamped how companions work, no longer are they a simple stat block but now have their own full inventory and stats like the hero, and are fully equippable from the player's inventory!

EXCUSE ME???
and now to create a little UI too
(sound on!)
you ever procrastinate so hard you make a little virtual piano inside your game? I keep thinking of all the time i wasted in undertale's piano scene trying to play songs, so i hope people waste time here too.
Huge thanks to IRCSS's Procedural-Sound plugin on github โค๏ธ

Not too long! I started with a base from the unity store called Mythril2D, but the companion system has been in the works for months, this particular scene is just a few commands on a game object, (move x to y, make a bark, make character invisible) lots of smoke and mirrors
not negative at all! Infact i thought you came across super positive, I'll go check out pathfinder Wotr, i've never heard of it, and making them take their place right at the inn entrance is a very interesting idea too!
but thank you for the feedback! it's always super nice to hear!!!
2/2 so that they would already do their thing even while you were still walking to the door, but that made a big headache of managing triggers, what if the player went back or stepped over it again? if i can figure out a nice conditional system, i would much rather do that instead
1/2 Oh no yeah i completely agree, as someone who just wants to get it over it with, it was painful having to make the wait bigger. Right now it's so big because i was trying to wait out the barks dissapearing, originally i wanted to make the trigger happen when you even stepped near the room
NEVERMIND I GOT IT WORKING EVEN BETTER
Taking a page from disco elysium, dont want companions going into your private, one person at the inn? make them go to different rooms on door trigger. it looks funky! now with a little bit of difference in walking speed or something i might be able to make this look natural
