i know most people would say "this would look even cooler if it was animated", but my brain much more enjoys being able to register and savor every single spike in this
i still find rushing to be the undisputed number one way to slow things down, but number two is drawing things really accurately, because that's always the first stuff that gets thrown out and redrawn
100% less drawing on the next thing
like all of Farel's work, proxima centauri is an encyclopedia of (surprising, immediate, personal, fun) things you can only do in a comic-- this section has some of my favorite moments too, though it's hard to pick from this particular book
back to moving the pen today in some capacity, so sunday should be at least ok (in this room, no guarantees elsewhere)
Pen and marker drawing of a pensive goku gazing into the sunset

we just don't have the technology to handle hundreds of lines of text
it's just nuts how much of a drawing machine Kordey is, and this book is a good example
absent-mindedly drank half a cup of leftover coffee, so i guess the plan for today now includes saturday
it would take a group of experts to explain exactly why i would have a thought like "we should see more of the horse" at 9 pm on a friday, but i can tell you that it's definitely the same reason because of which i do comics in the first place
they're all great, but particularly enjoying this picture Ben!
I did a cover for my homies, who are doing some really cool stuff.
🏆🏆
(the day is garbage, but starting it with drawing an excited child instead of the usual scowling grumps program is a nice change of pace at least)
on with friday
(i'm still paying for the domain, so www.not-but.com for all your reminding needs)
only (north american) comics could have folks Pratt and Moebius out of print even for a single week
The Complete Corto Maltese – Volume 1: The Ballad of the Salt Sea
That's a random selection of stories. They will be publishing everything in The Complete Corto Maltese, beginning with Volume 1: The Ballad of the Salt Sea in October.
the binding in the IDW ones was killing me, so i'm happy there's another version on the way (leaving my old copies in croatia because they'll be easy to replace here, like a lot of other stuff, was a mistake...)
even better!
looked at the fantagraphics website during a short break and hey, out in april. it's amazing that these can ever be out of print, let alone for years at a time, but it's comics
again a long day of drawing lumpy guns, but remembered i can at least put on some glenn branca for the last 40 hours of it www.youtube.com/watch?v=JM_k...
(it's funny how music that sounds like a migraine can have the opposite effect) (or it might put you in a homicidal state; i'm not responsible)
composite satellite image of Antarctica, the snow & ice appearing as different shades of blue and beige, the sea is black. following three images are variations of this theme.
GUYS have you seen this. antarctica on google maps. go look at it. this is tech struggling to process the Sublime
in any case, this picture was 85% done this morning and after working on it all day, it's now 50% done
forgot that drawing snow means either covering everything in near static or the ernie bushmiller-grade painstaking placing of eight snowflakes in perfect spots or it doesn't work at all, so guess which reasonable and expedient option i gravitated to (as usual)
he's probably also very happy when people in north america read Js as Gs
(at least neither of us has a first name that not too uncommon over there: Jerko. that would be a nightmare)
he was right, it's here
tonči "there are no S, G, or K sounds in my name" zonjić
(that's the mystery phrase in my bio -- tawn chih zawn yitch)
how is it always tuesday
