Housing costs have become a challenge for families across the US. We can't get by on scatter-shot approaches/no solutions at all. We need coordinated planning that makes existing housing & new housing more affordable for PA. Now, we have to get it done. whyy.org/articles/sha...
Safe communities require investments in first responders and violence prevention. We're going to keep fighting for those investments for our neighborhoods.
In Lehigh County, 34,000 people will qualify for these tax credits. These tax credits are new in PA. This is a good first step to put money into the pockets of working Pennsylvanians and I look forward to supporting ways to grow these tax credits in the future.

Concerned about losing your SNAP benefits due to changes in federal law? In addition to keeping your address up to date with the PA DHS, pay attention to what work and reporting requirements you must fulfil. More information is available at dhs.pa.gov/work.
It's really not a surprise that improved access to health care services leads to better health outcomes. Feb is Cancer Prevention Month, which encourages screening. When screening yields a diagnosis, care is needed available. Mcaid expansion saves lives.

Had the opportunity to join PCN for today's episode of Capitol Preview. It's a long, in-depth show. Here's a link to the recording: pcnselect.com/videoplayer....
This afternoon I had the pleasure of returning to B'nai B'rith Apartments in Allentown to meet with residents for a town hall. This is always an active group with well-informed opinions, and I thoroughly enjoy our conversations. Thank you for having me!
Yes, it's February and the creeks & streams are ice covered. The Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission and partners have trout stocking scheduled throughout our region. Stay up to date on trout stocking dates here: fbweb.pa.gov/TroutStocking
Spent part of the AM getting a tour The Kindness Project HQ. There are wonderful people doing incredibly kind things in our community. The Kindness Project provides free support to foster families through our region. It is a gift of tremendous love. Truly grateful for this team
With Memorial Day and Flag Day around the corner, a reminder that my office continues to collect old or discarded American Flags for proper retirement. Give a call to make arrangements to make sure somebody is at the office.
I love what America can be even when I don't love what America might be doing. Black history month is a reminder of our promise to incorporate ALL people in the American dream - even those who have consistently been shut out of it.
I appreciated Gov. Shapiro touching on this in his budget remarks yesterday. Reminder: the House approved HB1250 in June 2025. I voted yes and it received a strong bipartisan approval. It has not been brought to a vote in the Senate.

From last week's Eli Lilly announcement as Jeff Fleischaker, Chair of the UMT Supervisors speaks. Lilly investing $3.5B in Lehigh Co is huge. It's important to remember roles local leaders like Jeff, his colleagues Julien & Sunny, & the staff led by Twp Manager Bob Ibach will have. Thank you all.
Gov. Shapiro's budget proposal continues the historic investments in our community schools, job creation and mental health care that PA needs. Looking forward to getting to work on the 2026-2027 budget.

I love what America can be, but I don't always love what America does. History sometimes has tough lessons. We need to acknowledge them & learn from them. Removing lessons of slavery from history sweeps these lessons under the rug for future generations. www.pa.gov/governor/new...
I've been getting messages about how PA is responding to the unrest & violence being perpetrated by ICE. The most pointed message I got was from a 95yr old woman who was in the service, appalled at what the country has become & wants me to take steps to get curb ICE. My response:
Due to winter storms over the past couple of weeks, area blood supplies are dwindling. Please consider rolling up your sleaves to help. Visit www.GiveAPint.org or call 800-B-A-DONOR (223-6667) to schedule an appointment.
Yesterday I had a visit w/ Rep Joe Webster who took me for a tour of the "Speakers House" in Trappe. It was home of the 1st Speaker of the House, Frederick Augustus Muhlenberg, the namesake of my Alma Mater, Muhlenberg College. Finding traces of Parkland/Allentown all over PA.
Today was the Allentown State of the City. I had some commitments w/ other colleagues today, so Jean from my office attended. Highlights: the region's diversity as friends of different faiths offered words of welcome, and the William Allen Band and Dance Team. Good stories!
