Nearly 1 million Pennsylvanians will qualify for new earned income tax credit in 2026 The Working Pennsylvanians Tax Credit was modeled on the federal Earned Income Tax Credit, often described as one of the country’s largest anti-poverty programs.

In Lehigh County, 34,000 people will qualify for these tax credits. These tax credits are new in PA. This is a good first step to put money into the pockets of working Pennsylvanians and I look forward to supporting ways to grow these tax credits in the future.

Breast cancer survival rates higher in Medicaid expansion states, study finds • Pennsylvania Capital-Star Researchers found that Medicaid expansion was associated with lower overall mortality — no matter the disease stage, race or ethnicity, or neighborhood income of the women.

It's really not a surprise that improved access to health care services leads to better health outcomes. Feb is Cancer Prevention Month, which encourages screening. When screening yields a diagnosis, care is needed available. Mcaid expansion saves lives.

Shapiro calls for protections for manufactured home residents Gov. Josh Shapiro urged lawmakers to advance a package of bills aimed at strengthening protections for manufactured home residents.

I appreciated Gov. Shapiro touching on this in his budget remarks yesterday. Reminder: the House approved HB1250 in June 2025. I voted yes and it received a strong bipartisan approval. It has not been brought to a vote in the Senate.

Eli Lilly unveils plans for $3.5B manufacturing campus, largest economic development project ever in Lehigh Valley The pharmaceutical giant is building a manufacturing campus in the Lehigh Valley that promises to create hundreds of new jobs.

This is a huge piece of news. $3.5B being invested, creating 850 full-time permanent jobs, 2,000 construction jobs, and job pipeline in tandem with LCCC. This is a big deal and I'm excited.
