If you've just woken up, the politics of hope just crushed the politics of fear and hatred (Labour-Reform).
It wasn't even close.
40.6% for the Greens. Reform second on 28.7%, Labour third on 25.4%.
This is a big deal! If Reform can replace the Tories, Greens can replace Labour—and beat Reform.
The Q is will we learn the right lesson from this, which is: unite behind Greens now if we want any chance of beating Reform. The story must not be about Labour’s failure but about the Greens’ success.
The danger w abundance is people hearing “affordable housing” and thinking it’s a progressive movement. So abundance allying itself with tech billionaires is probably a good thing bc it more transparently shows people that its just another neoliberal agenda perpetuated by the capitalist elite 🙃
Broadly speaking, there are 2 political factions. Not Labour v Tory/Reform, Republicans v Democrats etc, but an economic elite, operating globally, versus all of us. Though they are small in number, through the power of the political, media and social media systems they control, they keep winning.

How does it help them? It helps Stephen bc it takes the heat off him — but only by putting it all on Rachel and Fiona, two people who were implicitly trusted by everyone and would have waltzed through to the final together had Fiona not done this.

Over and over the US inflicts obscene violence against the global South, in flagrant violation of international law, to maintain the conditions for capital accumulation for its decadent billionaire class. It's disgusting and intolerable. We cannot continue to accept this.
Remember that the US *does not care* about the people of Venezuela. It is not about "narcotrafficking", or "democracy", or whatever propaganda they have going. It is *explicitly* about US control over oil, capital accumulation, and geopolitical power.
