I got the image from the original thread where the vote took place here: github.com/CSS-Next/css...
It seems the HTML logo was created as a concept of how it might look like if HTML adopted the design language as well: github.com/CSS-Next/css...
Which is a shame, because I quite like it myself.
I helped a colleague setup fnm (Fast Node Manager) on their Windows machine, so I threw together a quick guide in English and in Japanese
@ped.ro Do you happen to have any idea what the technology behind the @raycast.com Translate feature is? What API is it using? Google? DeepL? Some kind of LLM?
React v19 is finally stable and has been released! react.dev/blog/2024/12...

So congratulations 🎉 you got me to install and use Raycast, and now that I have in on my MacBook out of laziness, at least for now, I'm going to keep using it 😅

Verdict: Undecided, actually. Already have Alfred Powerpack + paid window management apps. The Translate feature is great but paid (fair tbh). Appreciate that I can disable paid features. Keeping it installed for now, but another $10 USD/mo sub is tough to justify.

Positives:
* Elegant design
* Expansive and easy to use extension store
* I got a surprising amount of use out of the Translate extension (but it's behind a sub)

So I gave Raycast a try for 2 weeks.
Negatives:
* Froze twice on M1 MacBook Pro (Alfred: zero freezes ever)
* Features that don't require a server like themes & unlimited clipboard locked behind sub
* Another $10 USD/mo (~¥1500, or about 3 Starbucks coffees)
What color theme are you using?
It's also a pretty clever way to handle the concept of verification. Because there's no doubt that @github.com is actually the official account of GitHub, or @wesbos.com the official account of Wes Bos.
I've been struggling with setting up Outlook and Spark using my custom domain iCloud email for years. Finally figured it out, so I threw together this guide. michaelcharl.es/aubrey/en/co...
I’m convinced this is how every engineer stumbles into a DevOps role
A photo of a desk with two monitors, an iPhone, an iPad, and a Macbook Pro, all using the Macintosh wallpaper set to purple.
Purple
#Macintosh #wallpaper #macos #techsky
If you hate seeing anything at all on your #Mac desktop, the following command will hide all desktop items:
defaults write com.apple.finder CreateDesktop -bool false && killall Finder && say icons hidden
And back again:
defaults write com.apple.finder CreateDesktop -bool true && killall Finder
Life pro tip of the year right here.
This changes everything.
The cup is too big.
Alternatively it implies the existence of an L Cool J, M Cool J, and an S Cool J at minimum.
Oh my word the themes! I’m envious. The Netscape one on @localghost.dev is my favorite.
Done. But I’m not sure I follow: Where are these integrations enabled? On the @bsky.app ?
This post by @localghost.dev is wonderful: localghost.dev/blog/everyth....
Also omg Sophie your website is _beautiful_ 🤩
And happy birthday 🎉
Coolio. Are you based in Japan or traveling?
Can I start calling HTML a declarative programming language now?
Okay, but where can I watch it?
I’ll take a look, thanks!
Raycast looks great! I just haven’t been convinced to switch away from Alfred
