it’s funny how the team with the No. 1 overall pick gets the optimistic media bump while the team picking second plays punching bag
Helps when it’s the Jets but yeah, the Raiders still suck ass

The Bears are close but would still need to free up around $5 to $6 $7 million more in cap space to get into the Maxx Crosby sweepstakes

Beane was on with Daniel Jeremiah and Rich Eisen at the Combine while the wideouts were running the 40 and one of his remarks was like, “Man, these guys are fast…”
and it read as though he was worried they would fly up teams’ big boards (they have) and the Bills might miss out on them (at 26, 60)

the damn Bears sniped TJ Parker at 1.25 smh; dk that Peter Woods would be available but makes sense to add another DL who can grow in the system
LT Overton is more of the big-bodied Zach Allen type that has done well; so is Keldric Faulk, and he was available in the 1st Rd in this simulation, but i don't think he'd realistically be there
Jalon Kilgore is a nickel who has some blitz appeal; Chandler Rivers is probably the guy who most closely resembles Ja'Quan McMillan
Crownover could maybe take over as LT one day; Nadame Tucker is wishing on a dream; Tyler Onyedim is a 3-4 versatile type of core defensive lineman that profiles as a down-the-road Leonhard scheme fit
idk man. would have liked to draft considerably more offense!

NCAA 2025 Reg + Post
2025 NCAA Pass Rushing Productivity — Player Rankings
The PFF 'Pass Rushing Productivity' rating measures pressure created on a per snap basis with weighting toward sacks
toggles: minn. pass rushes (20% of 100)
draft year: 2026
positions: CB, S
Teams: 68 (Power 4)
Chandler Rivers was the only one to show up in both 2025 and 2024 reports as far as meeting the minimum pass rush thresholds in this draft class (and he was even better in 2024)
He seems to profile as the sort of nickel that Jim Leonhard would like, a Ja'Quan McMillan type (didn't really look into a Talanoa Hufanga safety-type because nickel is a more pressing need to fill in 2027-28 with youth; Cole Bishop can play FS or SS and they'll probably fill that with a veteran and maybe take a shot late, like a Stroman or Robert Spears-Jennings and/or UDFA. There are a lot of safeties and Leonhard typically has had them play defined rolls and not really blitzed them all that often, but who knows. Seems adaptable. I'm just yapping here idk. Enjoy the rest of your week!
life comes at you fast!

Buffalo Bills
7-Round Mock Draft
loading up on guys for Jim Leonhard's scheme
Chandler Rivers would've been a nice pick at No. 60, man. Sort of fits the Ja'Quan McMillan mold as a blitzing nickelback (highly rated pass rusher in 2024 & '25)

2026 NFL offseason trade grades: DJ Moore, Trent McDuffie
We're handing out report cards on big offseason moves, including the Bears sending DJ Moore to the Bills.
"Ultimately I think the Bills' instinct at wide receiver is correct. But to pay real draft capital for the right to take on what is likely an overpriced contract and add extra guarantees is far from optimal."
Optimal exists in simulations and spreadsheets, not reality.

Although most NFL scouts fly under the radar even inside their own buildings, their scouting reports shape the entire league.
During the long days of the combine, they often move in small packs.
So, how does it all work?

Yeah
Upside is Turbo Shakir as a YAC threat who’s also more likely to be trusted to win downfield on the perimeter.
🦬 Offensive environment pointing toward more quick game with new starters on the OL, Cook’s early season workload scaled back for the stretch run. Top 24 floor if they’re all smiles.

think this puts the Bills firmly on EDGE/LB watch in the first round, maybe TJ Parker/Anthony Hill Jr.
Either a speedy OLB/EDGE who lines up outside or a DT/DE who can line up over tackle
Hill Jr. also plays in the box
