Shamkhani was not a military official (formerly but had no command over forces after transition into political positions), he played a large role in nuclear negotiations. Him and Bagheri are the two most significant kills so far if confirmed.

🎉 Our new journal article on #counterfeit items in the nuclear supply chain is finally out! The paper seeks to illuminate the risk counterfeit items pose not only to #nuclearsafety, but also #nuclearsecurity, building on research we conducted for an IAEA CRP.

Germany, Netherlands, Brazil and Japan all have civil nuclear power and the ability to enrich uranium. None have nuclear weapons.
