In order to justify removing the healthcare from trans youth in the UK, 96.9% of studies into trans healthcare treatment were excluded, and no studies on non-binary people included at all.
This is absolutely what will happen when young trans people rationally stop seeking NHS "care" that offers nothing more than conversion therapy appointments.
Ultimately I can't change the past so I try and accept it as being my path through life
Yeah this one's a permanent dilemma. There's probably 3 points in my life I 'should' have started transition but didn't have sufficient conviction, before I actually did
I wouldn't have had my daughter or career, but I wouldn't have had quite so much self hate, or messed up other people either

It's from a very old, very discredited study that lumped gender non-conformance in with gender dysphoria. The former was much greater than the latter, especially when judged by the gender stereotypes of the time

The christian right-wing play book says that the next step will be to ban hormones for the under 25s on the even more wafer thin premise of brain development
We all need to be prepared. If the NHS supply your hrt, build up a small stock. If they don't, speak to other folks, find diy/private sources
Today's ban on NHS HRT for under 18s formalises a policy that has already been in place - Noone under 18 has received a new prescription for HRT since mid 2024 (I don't know of any since late 2023).
Of course this policy also raises the risk of similar action on private healthcare for under 18s.
Just need to make heat pumps & insulation affordable for folk in old Edwardian houses now!
(Last time we looked, the scheme in Scotland only supports you if you agree to do things that would cause damp in old houses π)
We've had an electric car for 2 months now, it's been a revelation at how easy and usable and, when you can charge at home, how cheap it is
I'll likely always have a fun petrol powered car but for everyday motoring, no going back from electric for me
I have something to say that I feel is maybe some personal projection but like. My life is still worth living as a clocky trans woman. I understand the distress of not being treated soon enough but so much discourse really....my life is still worth having whilst being clocky!
So, according to news reports, the NHS England hormone ban ("pause") for under-18s is informed by new research reviews. Has anyone actually seen these? I can't find them.
I also have a *lot* of questions, given the sheer amount of evidence that hormones work. I suspect a Cass-style stitch-up.
This is the problem, the media has failed and won't tell the truth about the groups who are trying to eradicate trans people
The Labour government labelled far more benign behaviour as terrorism - when it suited their political objectives. That they are silent now is also a political objective
If you have been blessed with a trans child;
1. Keep them away from the NHS
2. Try and move abroad if you can
3. Be prepared to fight transphobic staff at school
4. Find other sources of hormones/medication. If you can, get a car loan to pay for them.
5. Protect them from all governmental agencies.
Keep the receipts. We must ensure that no MP who supports this cruelty is ever allowed to escape judgement

This ban will cause yet more harm & Wes Streeting will have yet more blood on his hands

That's a good point, lots of false walls and gaps under floorboards. You'd think there'd be ways to fill those nowadays though, or at least fit fire suppression systems that can fill the voids with extinguishant gas. Maybe it's time landlords were told to do so
No trains to/from Glasgow Central today but they are being allowed to pass through, but not stop at, Glasgow Central low level so Argyle Street station is going to get busy!
This part of Scotland is notorious for accidental fires when developers can't get permission to knock old buildings down, but this one was very prominent, very much in use. Vapes do seem to be a menace though
