I guess it was always so, but now it’s become so abhorrent and extreme there needs to be some sort of release valve. I don’t know what it looks like, but humanity needs a break from the mainstream media news function.

There needs to be a comprehensive effort to counter the utterly unhinged narrative of right wing media, which now operates in its own self-radicalising bubble of hate. They don’t represent actual people, but exist to direct a distracted, frightened and vulnerable public.

Used to work with loads of Spurs fans at Deliveroo and I went from ambivalent to outright detesting them on the basis of their smarmy, entitled attitudes. Every club needs a stint in the Champo to regain a level head.

Had to be slightly different since the objective is to populate a bunch of input boxes for the remaining fixtures (which the user can then choose to tweak), but I think the overall outcome ought to be broadly similar? We’ll see!

At one point I was considering paying for per-match xG to weight the model towards recent performances but… that’d be insane, right?

The main difference in our approaches is (I think) that my app still needs to derive an arbitrary set of match scores to use, which it then calculates final standings from, rather than just picking a final total (which could happen one of multiple ways).

I think the model I’ve ended up with is probably very different to yours. And it’s still probably not very accurate!
