I know there are bigger things happening today, but I just learned that Dan Simmons died.
If you enjoy sci-fi with really deep, introspective stories that will make you question your views on just about everything, you should absolutely read through the Hyperion cantos.
I've been slowly reading through these for the first time (because I am loving them and don't want them to be over). I'm just about done with the last one and this is sad. Such a great author.
My job is safe from the clankers for at least another day. Probably a whole bunch more.

The amount of unhinged, easily verifiable lies about what happened today that I see being vomited out into the ether is insane. There's clear-as-day video from multiple angles! You can have thoughts and opinions on what happened, but you can't just make up what you want to have happened
It goes over my head most of the time, but I see lots of in-depth ratio and resolution discussions on the SQH discord. I'd bet if you popped on there and asked you would get some good answers
