Detail shot of a metal control panel for calling an elevator. From top to bottom there is a warning sign about not using the elevator during a fire, followed by the call button to go up, the call button to go down and a written form about not using the elevator during a fire (in German). The call buttons for up and down have been covered by a well fitted printout replacing the original up/down arrows with lower-case script versions of the letter "a" with an accent circonflexe above. The upper of the two new labels also has a dagger symbol as a superscript. (For those who would get the joke but can not follow the typographic description: It is the raising and lowering operators as used in quantum mechanics.)

This is the #GameBoy Photo Booth for my cousin's wedding. It records from a Game Boy Camera and lets the guests print a souvenir on a Game Boy Printer.

A photo of a blue Game Boy Pocket, a green Game Boy Camera and a Sony Alpha 6400 system camera. All three are mounted above the top frame of a screen which is almost outside the photo at the bottom. The Sony camera's screen is flipped up and shows a preview of someone taking a picture with a smartphone. The Game Boy's screen is hard to make out because of a reflection, but it clearly shows a preview of the Game Boy Camera's image, showing roughly the same scene as the Sony camera.

The photo shows a laptop, a Game Boy Pocket and a Game Boy Camera on a table. The Game Boy Camera is held up by a hand and connected to the Game Boy Pocket through a long ribbon cable. The top of a GB Interceptor board is sticking out from the Game Boy Pocket, which is connected to the Laptop through a USB cable. The Game Boy Pocket and the laptop both show the same image of the Game Boy Camera's view of me smiling at the camera.
I finally have a use for the GB Interceptor's extension board.

I would not even be surprised if I had followers who recognize what this is. Don't get excited. I am not really doing anything here that has not been done before.
The photo shows the screen of a digital oscilloscope. On the screen three three signals are visible, labelled CLK, MOSI and MISO. Alls show digital patterns with a peak to peak voltage of about 5V and in 8 bit groups that last about 1 millisecond each. Below the signals is the result of SPI decoding, showing hex values for the MISO and MOSI signals. MOSI data is 0x88 0x33 0x0f 0x00 0x00 0x00 0x0f 0x00 0x00 0x00. MISO data is 0x00 0x00 0x00 0x00 0x00 0x00 0x00 0x00 0x81 0x00.

This is a screenshot from a benchmark app, showing a total score of 3029 for my Pixel 6. It also shows a histogram of how many other Pixel 6 devices have achieved which scores, most of which score in the range of 5000 to 7000. It also shows that my score is better than only 2% of the recorded Pixel 6 scores.
Just spent a day debugging an OpenGL performance issue in phyphox to eventually find that it is caused by my Pixel 6 overheating atypically in any GPU-heavy application (see benchmark).
Anyone ever experienced something like this? Not sure if it's time for some "exploratory surgery" or an upgrade.
Not entirely sure I fully get what is proposed here, but if the Switch 2 has general support for USB webcams it should indeed be as easy as plugging the Interceptor into the Switch.

Modified the firmware for the GB Interceptor device by @there.oughta.be to do that. Connecting the device requires a #GameBoy to Mega Duck cart slot adapter.

Hm... I don't want to add a free cropping dialog to keep it simple, but keeping a stretched and a cropped copy around and allowing users to switch with a checkbox wouldn't hurt.
Wow, did not know about that one, but I love how even he references an even older DOS utility. With such an old device I am doomed to just redoing stunts others have already done - but with modern tools :)

Oh no, we have been working on the same thing again? And you partially beat me to it with pictogb.com! Now I am also wondering why that video did not get more traction on Youtube... (and a bit worried on how the topic will work out for my channel)
... I think it gets easier with a permanent position and more of a "things get done eventually" perspective, but I also really enjoy when I get the same drive on an academic project. After all, work is not that much different from my hobbies - if it wasn't for all the distracting other duties.
Not sure how to answer that. I definitely get the guilty conscience that I could have spent the time on one of my many academic todos, but I am also very happy that this Christmas holidays I managed to completely forget about work-related tasks and really dove into doing only what I wanted to do...
That's also great for admission tickets. (Actually prepared that for the 37c3 but did end up not using it because I had to go to the speaker's desk instead.)
My Game Boy slideshow generator is almost complete. Just drag and drop some images into it and download a ROM for your Game Boys without installing anything. It runs locally in any modern browser.
Give me a few days to wrap it up and make a little YT video.

That's not how the Interceptor works. It just observes the data the Game Boy receives from a cartridge and emulates the graphics unit. It does not matter where the carts gets the data from. So, yes, when you play back your photos, the Interceptor's MJPEG stream should show a pixel-perfect copy.
I finally released my Bluetooth remote app for #SonyAlpha cameras. It just pops up whenever you turn on your camera without the usual hassle of setting up the Wifi remote.

Photo of the top-most branch of a peach tree with a still small peach growing upwards at the very top. (Details: Two larger branches are visible that have been cut off and the visible part has very few leafs. The tree has been sick for several years now and is actually beginning to grow peaches and a somewhat dense leafage again.)
Our peach tree seems to believe that gravity is something that happens to other plants.
