There's a massive opportunity to monetize the platform by partnering with registrars to allow registering a domain to use as a handle directly through bsky.
I got myself a domain just to be able to have a non-ugly email address because everything decent on gmail was taken by 2010. Happened to be useful here too.

If you own a domain (or can edit its DNS records), you can set that domain as your handle.
In bsky, go to settings -> advanced -> change handle -> i have my own domain. It will give you a TXT DNS record you'll need to create. The whole thing takes a minute.
