I have actually bumped into this as well … there’s also some weirdness around Quaternion math. Debugged the whole day, then ended up reimplementing the math myself.
Fun times.

Instructions unclear, wrote 30k lines of code capable of perfectly simulating a virtual puppy girl on my desktop
Been working on something for nearly a year now … and I learned that there’s a point where taking your time stops feeling good
I love it when you put them on the dock and then the headset decides that they've actually disconnected and refuses to dismiss that notification under any circumstances.
I’ve used it since the start. If it didn’t exist I would’ve sent back the headset. Especially since Steam Link on it still seems blurry regardless of settings.
I’m actually not typically using the controllers so mostly don’t care. The other issues have occurred on practically all my friends headsets and I’ve factory reset a few times now because the OS updates also never go smoothly.
Only thing they seemed to finally have fixed is the artifacting/tearing.
Also not mentioning the official way of running PCVR on it because that's just pain and suffering ... and also just salt in the wound after they removed the USB networking drivers from the headset.
I'm not even going to get into that. My Pro has a screeching mic, sometimes runs one eye at different FPS (or doesn't turn on), hangs up every couple of months, loads my home character in static T-Pose, sometimes randomly turns off Wi-Fi, has overheating controllers and often disconnects them ...
Based on what I've seen Meta seems to _really_ hate the people developing for their platform. There's just no other way to explain the state of their ecosystem ...
Mostly depends on the world. If there’s already a depth light you aren’t adding much. If there’s isn’t, it’s somewhat expensive compared to not having it.
For clubs everyone using VRSL lights (and sometimes fog) will already have that.
Would be more worried about it breaking with mirrors/effects.
I put all my money on „dot‘s crappy 5G connection“
When "A".charCodeAt(0) is too long to write ... (And yes I know this is dumb because every single other language will happily let you treat char as a number).
Yeaah the cause for going offline is apparently a write failure so I guess it does it so quickly even my little SSD RAID can't keep up or something ... Still odd
It’s been randomly causing my storage pool to fail lately. Only application that does, no errors, no data loss. Always fun to see it crash and have to re-mount my project array.
Well time to start counting the days until world creators can do stuff with it ...
sigh ... time to make my bed 19" compatible ...
I'd say I'm disappointed but tbh this is practically what I expected (and been saying for months). A Quest competitor rather than something for die hard VR users.
Will absolutely get myself a new Steam Controller though. Loved the old one but the lack of sticks made it annoying as a daily driver.
There’s still people who invest in this type of thing. That’s why.
Typically the people behind those concepts know it doesn’t work. Just take the money and run.
tbh lately I've really been missing running events ... despite the burnout ...
But how many Doritos are in one banana? I hate converting to/from empirical…
tbh it's not that bad for worlds. You can even do custom shaders if you aren't going too crazy.
Until Unity decides that it wants all your money again ...
Meanwhile I'm cursing out my printer for jamming for the 30th time that day ... just to realize the next day that there's an envelope stuck in the fuser just past the jam sensor that I can only barely see and grab with tweezers. No surprised nothing made it out ...

Firefox has a "Copy clean link" menu item on URLs. Can recommend ... it also supports ad blockers. Believe it or not.
Uppsala has them. They're being powered by the biogas made from food waste. Feels basically the same as a Diesel engine though imho ... or maybe I was always too occupied with not dying given how they drive those things to notice a difference.
Yeaah ... On the FLX4 it sort of makes sense since it's basically the entry level offering. The 6 is basically built the same as the 4 as far as I could tell though so value/money is sort of crap on that one as the "medium" upgrade option.
+1 on the FLX10. I absolutely love mine to death.
Maybe worth pointing out: The build quality is a decent bit better than what you find on the FLX4 and 6. So if that's what you're worried about, you'll be positively surprised.
We used to call that "IRC". Man I'm old ...
