I enjoyed it myself. It brought me back after I lost interest in 13 and that series. 15 appeared to be leather friends kingdom hearts.

Good news! I now have the standard hardcover editions of my 32 Bit Library series for sale over on pixelsandpolygons.net!
Interesting news... Amazon is running a sale at like 33% off for every hardcover, which is a much better deal.
Either way, check them out, tell a friend, stay retro!

It had 2 years of development, which wasnβt out of the norm for games at that time.
I do agree that I never got attached to this story or its characters.
It was a technological improvement, though!

This one and Circle of the Moon are on the lower end of my personal list. I do enjoy them, and all of the Iga-vaniaβs are entertaining, but I just donβt have any lasting memories from this one either.

I love RPGs, maybe more than Beat 'Em Ups, so I was into the idea that the series turned... I am just overwhelmed by how many there are, and haven't played any since 1. Maybe one day!

Final Fantasy II is the epitome of "has a lot of interesting ideas, doesn't really know how to get there" as a video game.
I'll give it credit for a surprisingly mature story that's easily Square's darkest until they released FFVI.

I first bought Edge magazine back in 1993 and never stopped. This account is dedicated to celebrating over 30 years of gaming history by revisiting 400+ issues of one of the industry's most distinctive voices.
Expect scans, excerpts, some brutal reviews, and plenty of talk about the good old days.

Magazine cover showing a character from the game Zelda: Ocarina of Time. It's a postman, running with an opened envelope in his hand. He's wearing an odd bunny mask thing and a kind of sports onesie. Floating just above his head is a blue orb fairy with wings and on the ground is a a creature from the game that fires rocks at you from its snout.
The back cover of a magazine with characters from the game Zelda: Ocarina of Time. There are some chickens, too but don't let that put you off.
My one and only Edge cover (although I do consider just one pretty good going). These 20th anniversary covers are up on fleabay for pretty good money but despite the amount of sweets and comics I could get for that, this one is probably staying with me for the duration.
