One of the resident research projects I am supervising is a survey of the family planning/fertility intentions of people with #longCOVID. So far, our abstract has been rejected by 2 conferences. Is our abstract non-competitive or is there bias against acknowledgement of #longCOVID?

There is strong research evidence that Covid-19 and Long Covid increase the risk of many cardiovascular conditions, including heart attacks, clotting events, POTS, vascular ageing and more.

I’ve unmasked a white nationalist fight club in my city: Montreal.

After weeks of work (with help!), I can reveal an Olympian as a member of the Frontenac Active Club — one who, unbeknownst to the owners, brought them to a local gym for training and propaganda photos.

Here’s my investigation:

"Images posted to the club’s Telegram channel show its members posing for propaganda pictures in the gym, with huge flags unfurled and Nazi imagery on at least one member’s workout clothes."

This (2020) is fascinating to read now:

It also highlights the stigma of using one substance vs others.
Despite a far higher burden and costs of tobacco and alcohol, we don’t have any qualms treating those harms as health issues.

Yes. This. Except unsupervised = unsupported. Alone = no chance for help. Help that might save a life or change a life. There should be support across the political spectrum for this lifesaving approach.

We have always put on the subtitles, but this time I noticed another option : "commentary"... and wow, cool and too funny!

Reel in which Sood looks confused, writes, "When the patient starts using medical terminology suspiciously well," and then plays the Twilight Zone theme.

My response: "I hope you're not one of those physicians who's intimidated by knowledgeable patients. I have a doctorate and chonic health conditions - some lifelong (for ex., lung disease) and some of which are somewhat rare, and so, of which doctors are ignorant of (like prior Spotaneous Coronary Artery Dissection, caused by FMD; many doctors treat SCAD heart attacks like those caused by plaque, and they aren't.) Yes, I know the research literature for my own conditions, and I use the correct terminology; why on earth would I do otherwise?

And if you see me in the ER and ask me "Are you a nurse?" (because I'm female) - no offense to nurses, but you're going to get an earful, bucko. Too many male doctors have asked me that; it speaks to their characters and implicit biases.

MDs and DOs get very little training on how to code switch with patients based on educational level and information seeking patterns. (I know that research too, btw.) Get proficient in meeting patients where they are while you're still young, and then do better, please."

Meanwhile, FB continues to disappoint.

When patients use incorrect terminology, many doctors later make fun of them. (I worked at a hospital briefly after college & saw it.) But when patients use correct terminology, MDs post reels w/ the Twilight Zone theme, like Dr. Kunal Sood did. My response:
