One strange difference, on the new one they’ve changed the front so it’s closer to your face, you can feel the plastic against your nose, but on the original it’s flat and you can’t feel it.

One quick note: the reason why Mother/ Earthbound items are always present in every Hobonichi release is that the creator of the Mother video game series, Shigesato Itoi, is also the creator of Hobonochi. It's not a collab per se. It's his baby. I love it because Earthbound for the SNES is my favorite video game of all time so it makes me happy to see my worlds collide. This year, I wasn't a big fan of the Mother line-up so l splurged and went with the 2025 leather Mother 2 cover with Ness riding a bike on the front and a full color map of the game's town inside. I just got a Hobonichi Techo to try journaling, I knew about it because of the Mother collabs, but didn’t realise the developer actually founded Hobonichi! That’s awesome!

Asteka 1, front of box. Not really sure how to describe it 😂 some kind of giant Buddha statue with glowing yellow eyes and an eye in its chest holding a naked woman..
Asteka 1 back of box. Shows some screenshots. Again not entirely sure what I’m looking at! A mountain like Mount Rushmore with with crests alien looking heads. A naked woman on her knees, a woman with red lipstick posing and looking over her shoulder, a map with the word Asteka about it, and a 3D image of a random black and white room with what looks like a dog or a wolf which for some reason is very brightly colours in comparison?

Maybe theres no way of sending a signal to the SD card when you save, so it would do ram backup constantly in the background?
I found out it wasn’t staying on because you need to press right to get to a different menu and save the code settings before turning it off, so at least that’s solved now!
