"All the billionaires are building bunkers"
That's cute, won't save them if it all comes crashing down

This sounds like a Sonic Boom Eggman bit.
"Ever since ✌️'some list'✌️ came to light in the news, everyone is insisting I'm using my island for nefarious deeds! Preposterous! The only thing my island is used for is to imprison the bodies of animals into robots to carry out my bidding. NOTHING MORE!"
Hate this epstein island shit because it has made it harder for us who own islands for NORMAL evil purposes. Having to constantly insist my private island that you can't find on any map only exists for me to create killbots and do mad science. NO, NOT RACE SCIENCE. The kind with giant tesla coils.
Looks like another anti women postcard that unintentionally exposed the boys by showing that they feared women treating them the way they treated women.
It has been 8,948 days since September 11th, 2001.
Trump kept referring to oil as “liquid gold” during the campaign.
If you are the purchaser of energy, you are the one paying the price, not the one receiving it.
It is *also* better for us for climate change reasons, too.
It is in fact better for us as a nation to go renewable as quickly as possible.
It’s just not better for Exxon.
Exxon is never going to sell you gas for $4.99 when it could sell someone somewhere else gas for $10.99.
The idea that we can be “energy independent” while on fossil fuels by simply pumping more of them out of the ground is predicated on shutting your eyes and pretending that the global economy does not exist.
Americans are about to learn one of the things I was yelling about during the campaign: the US cannot produce enough oil to keep us from feeling the global shocks of oil prices, because oil is produced by companies who will just charge us more money if the supply goes down elsewhere.
#tbt... Happy Birthday to Dennis the Menace and Dennis the Menace!

In light of the banning of more flavors of smut, I present the glory-hole gambit for our payment-processor overlords.
Absolute class act response from Mayor Mamdani.
A tweet from the @RapidResponse47 account of a screen shot of a Donald Trump Truth Social post that reads "At Military Academy with my parents, Fred and Mary!" Under that is a picture of Donald in a parade costume with his parents.
Posting this as the death toll of US troops hits the double digits because of Trump's new war was incredibly stupid. There's hundreds of mostly negative comments, a high percentage of them mentioning bone spurs.
Strait of Hormuz: any% BLJ speedrun
he is literally the most powerful person on earth, and yet he's still constantly aggrieved that other people aren't somehow miraculously cleaning up his fuck ups.
what the fuck is going on in Sam Altman’s head
If i assume an iota of good faith, here’s the thing: no, right now there is no need for a nuanced discussion. They are making a registry of trans people and they will use it to eradicate us.
They will use this to eradicate reproductive rights while they’re at it
Trans rights are women’s rights.
In the last 24 hours, Iran has:
- Struck three ships trying to cross the Strait of Hormuz, disabling a Thai cargo ship
- Blown up a large oil storage facility in Oman
- Struck two oil tankers at harbor in Iraq, setting both ablaze.
- Blown up oil storage tanks next to Bahrain’s main airport
really feeling the racism of clash of civilizations bullshit as this American government seemed to genuinely convince themselves that Iran was not going to fight back, and is now in shambles figuring out what to do
This story is over. It's time to turn the page and let a new one begin.
There is no "normal" to go back to, because going back to normal just lets the next fascist regime regroup and try again under the same ruleset they used to take power this time.
The elections this year and in 2028 are just to stop the freefall.
From there, we need to figure out something better.
To illustrate the point, this is the level of damage that's been done. It's TRULY generations of progress that's been undone.
You can't tinker around the edges to incrementally progress the way back to how it was and not expect a more determined regime to run the same playbook again in the future.
Trump is jerking off the newly hatched ghosts of growth portfolio managers that whoosh by him after they kill themselves over a margin call
If you start getting doomer and defeatist on me in my mentions and quotes I will mute you or block you I have no patience for this shit right now. None.
If you really think its hopeless and want to despair than I dunno. Die. That simple.
The rest of us want to live - and live in a better world.
The world is only going to become more unstable and tumultuous in the immediate future. We're witnessing the long and drawn out death of the post-World War II international order.
We can seize up with fear and die, or we can figure out how to get through all this.
tl;dr: shit's scary but we roll.
I feel like there's still a lot of folks in my field who - while maybe having truly good intentions, think that once Trump is gone we can just go back to some flavor of what we had before and I truly think we've crossed the Rubicon on that; for good and for ill.
Now is the time of monsters, etc.
The fact is what Trump is doing can't be truly fixed - especially not in the sense of just trying to roll back the clock.
The best we can hope for is building something new to replace it and that something new may have very little resemblance to what once was. And that's a generational project.
