Onboarding at a new role is like sipping from a firehose. You want more and more, but damn if you get too eager you get blasted in the face.
Three weeks ago:
> After reviewing your application, we've decided to pursue other candidates for this role. All the best.
Three weeks later:
*company posts the same job posting two more times*
Good luck with that one folks.
onboarding to my new job today, most comprehensive onboarding process iβve seen. itβs really well thought out.
also found them, itβs all spam lol
i spoke too soon, it took 30 minutes to taxi + takeoff out of denver, rip to that early arrival time.
sometimes when i fly United theyβre on the ball, and other times they drop it, kick it and have to find it under the couch.
today theyβve been on the ball though. thatβs nice!
> I'll tell ya why, because the engineers are not good at talking to the customers
I have been personally attacked by a movie from 1999.
> Uh oh, sounds like somebody's got a case of the Mondays.
So damn good
it's true
fine I'll rewatch Office Space.

Pretty fun word today!
pretty neat! walks the code to generate code chunks with syntax trees, then uses that + vectors / embeddings to surface info to the LLM model for summarization.
oh neat, I have something parsing git repos + vectorizing them + make it so I can ask my silly questions
nice work though!! you got it though!!
lol wut, "Read 7 more replies" and then I click it and there's no visible replies lol
brain is so slack-shortcut coded that when I type in some apps I just type  even if it doesn't support it, and send it anyway
worst part of my job search + finding a job is it is impossible to unsubscribe to the linkedin job alerts.
i mean i unsubbed like a week ago and im still getting them. terrible, where is bernard the unsubscribe mule when i need him to deliver for me.
no tolerance for bad design from the robots.

Damn I got lucky!
so fun, it actually was less code lol
hand rolled diff vs using a nice package for it
experimenting with something new for @forked.sh's overview
I've been using Expandly to automate my most common catch-phrases and a ton of other useful things along the way.
Yes other tools exist for this, but it feel wrong to pay / charge for them and I wanted to have source code available due to the permission requirements. No funny business!
Introducing Expandly (app):
Expandly is a text expansion utility app for macOS, so you can get that slack shortcode style snippets / emojis in other apps too.
Free forever + source available since it requires accessibility and input monitoring perms.
