Helping authors choose trusted journals matters — and publishers play a key role. Many researchers find Think. Check. Submit. thanks to the links and guidance shared by publishers.
And if you’d like a TCS speaker for a webinar or content for your newsletter, we’re always happy to collaborate.
I can see the outline of the article already in my head. Consider it half-written! 😂
Over 9 weeks, we shared 7 policy actions to advance Diamond Open Access.
They’re not just ideas — they’re actionable, interlinked, and built on real challenges.

If you'd like to catch up with the @oaaustralasia.bsky.social #OpenAccessWeek event on Community Ownership the recording is now available: youtu.be/bdNdkWG-uCg?... I was honoured to speak alongside Dr. Kiri West (Māori Data Sovereignty Network) &
Dr. Alice McSherry (Waiheke Marine Project).
Clear as mud! 😅
Yes, a recording is in the making and the slides are usually shared if the presenter allows. These are, for example, the results of last year’s conference www.oaspa.org/events/oaspa...
Valuable overview shared by Dagmar Meyer.
Spoiler alert: this is only the first elephant we see at #OASPA2025 today… (wait for Malavika’s session later!)
Adding to the conversation at #OASPA2025 about what we can do to change the current research assessment system. We should collect good examples, like the University of Sorbonne, which is using open data for analysis and invest in open infrastructures, see www.sorbonne-universite.fr/en/news/sorb...
Looking forward to seeing you tomorrow!
AGREED the Mandy Hill at #OASPA2025 that we should design a publishing system we want rather than trying to adapt what we have. It would be open by default. Certainly the arguments publishers make for why we should pay for OA underpin how dysfunctional their traditional subscription model is.
POSTERS session at #OASPA2025 - a good set of work being described here. Posters are available www.oaspa.org/wp-content/u...
The devil is in the (information) details?
URGENCY - from Stefano Bertuzzi at #OASPA2025 noting we are "living a terrible crisis where we have a breakdown in the shared methods that determine the truth".
Again this invokes Merton's Norms of Science - Communism, Universalism, Disinterestedness & Organized Skepticism. We need re-evaluation

Enjoying being at #OASPA2025 listening to a strong panel on the topic of ownership of knowledge (wish you could all be here to hear it). While struck of the (probably inadvertent) matching of the @oaspa.bsky.social logo with the beautiful stained glass windows at the Irish College here in Leuven.
Prof. Demmy. Verbeke explaining that KU Leuven Library has made a stand & spends zero budget on APCs or TAs. Instead, the library invests in nonprofit #openaccess publishing & infrastructure #OASPA2025
Thanks for the feedback! 😃

They are indeed very comfy. Well spotted! 😀 But also a great community coming together for a good cause.
Many inspiring thoughts today at the DIAMAS final conference. Lots to do within @eudch.bsky.social and the Nordic Capacity Centre. One great output is these practical recommendations. Something that can be used when meeting stakeholders on a national and regional level zenodo.org/records/1551...
Some nice image editing dit the trick this time around as well. 🤣🤣👵🏻

Enabling collaboration across borders is essential to ensuring we can provide opportunities for scholar-led non-profit publishing with increased or preserved quality. #diamondoa We will ensure that the Nordic Capacity Centre, nordicdiamondoa.org, connects to resources and guidelines from the EDCH.
