I feel like I've got some djinni curse because I absolutely love the idea of Effect but every single time I go to try experimenting with it again I get lost because apparently yet again I'm trying to do the one simple thing that somehow doesn't have any docs
Things that don't mean you're insecure:

taking selfies

posting about your successes

asking for help when you need it
Things that do mean you're insecure:

Listening to the Dungeon Crawler Carl audiobooks and one of my first thoughts was that the narrator sounded like Patrick Warburton.
You'll never guess who shows up in audiobook #6 π€―
The urge to start a podcast is equivalent to the urge to create a DSL*

Merge Request is much better than Pull Request
But PR is much better than MR
generative AI is the modern Pandora's box
Yeah I'm curious about this as well. Like will there be a language that's designed for optimal LLM generation?
Like I was already senior and just became a tech lead so I just kinda skimmed the midlevel and senior sections and skipped straight to the tech lead and staff sections, so I missed some good nuggets in there
Rereading the Software Engineers Guidebook by @gergely.pragmaticengineer.com and itβs illuminating seeing what stands out now being relatively newer at a company than when I first read it as a tech lead and several years of experience at a company already. Lots of good advice, strongly recommend
Sometimes I worry that I've spent too much time being interested by languages themselves and not enough about what to actually build. Especially with all the AI going on I think for better or worse language choice is going to matter even less in the near future
This blog is SO good at pointing out what should have been obvious about AI for coding (Copilot and others)
These tools are good for re-creating whatever theyβve been trained on.
They are not what will create the next, better generation of frameworks, libraries, technologies.
yeah i love curry
the best part of mobile dev is the build times and constantly switching between 4 different languages
hey so as a parent whoever made this candy deserves to be arrested
in retrospect it's kinda messed up that ash never named any of his pokemon. it's like getting a dog and just calling it dog
Where are we putting the cool server names now that everything's in the cloud?

The Shadow of what was lost Performed by Michael Kramer
Me, after finishing Wind and Truth: "wow, Michael Kramer narrated pretty much every book in the cosmere! That was awesome but it'll be fun to hear some new narrators and different voices after hearing the same guy for so long"
The literal next audiobook I decide to listen to, somehow:
So I finally just finished book 7 and I have to say
1. How dare you
2. Why would you do this to me π€ π₯ππ
3. I can't believe I put it off for so long
I grew up with only brothers and boy this was a shock when I started living with my wife and had daughters, these things are everywhere I swear they multiply on their own
