The base of this abstraction is in the `summon` function where it attaches a text display riding an item (with the `item_model` set to `air`).
This gives it a natural gravity that respects block hitboxes and I can re-leverage item despawns for further customization.
Code that generates the above video demos
And this is the source code behind this specific usage. I was able to generalize flying text to make it easier for me to use for various actions. I could see myself making this a bit more configurable for text that doesn't need to "fly" as well.
The amount of damage will make the size of the text a bit bigger.
Made a piece of flying text that comes out when you take damage. Adds a ton of feedback on the amount of strength a weapon provides.

Here's my abstraction to generate those above items. Same function works for compile-time and run-time vectors π§π½βπ³

I decided it was finally time to update my tick_order gist to include new advancement triggers and enchantment effects!

That's fair, I think we could make it easier, especially w/ some Github Action templates that auto-upload your builds to Modrinth and Smithed when you update would be helpful.
I hope to post more data pack JUICE here in the future. For now, check out this talk I did about beet, a Python tool for data and resource packs π

Didn't want to use overlays? I guess that's annoying to maintain. Github can also be useful for past releases, imo better than release platforms.
Also, @smithed.net platform exists π₯Ίππ
Is this on Github?
*taps mic* π€ is this thing on?
