@syncros
a photographer and techie living in Toronto. I used to shoot rolls of film and use BBSes, now I'm here. I focus on infrared landscape and street photography, two great ways to get me off the couch.

Object permanence is tough, okay
Big Hot Dog wont let them!
Several of the people behind the Nash The Slash Rises Again! documentary were on Toronto Mike'd today to talk about the film and the bandaged impresario.

My Dad worked at Imperial Optical in the 60s->90s. I remember visiting his office by Dundas Square, and it still had one of those pneumatic tube systems to fly documents around between floors I thought was so neat at the time.
Stick around for fireworks at 9pm tomorrow and then right into Toronto's own MC Flipside performing until 10.
and of course Weiner Flavour... lol!
I wrote about the history of Cinecycle, now operated by @cfmdcfilm.bsky.social, for @thestar.com last summer www.thestar.com/entertainmen...
Popped into my head that to get to his Dark Purple Slice show tonight, I'll be taking the streetcar past the alleyway off Yonge St north of College where I happened upon Bruce McCulloch singing and a large crew filming "the Daves I know" for the first season of @kithonline.bsky.social in 1989 or so.
iirc the problem was some idiot drone owners were flying their drones on top of the dome and inside, so they must have gone after everybody they could find holding controllers.
I was at a 2500 person show recently waiting for the main act to come on when a 20ish guy beside me noticed I was old enough to be his dad and asked if I knew the band π
(ironically I didn't actually, I knew the opener Catching Flies only, and he killed it). Kid wished me a good night tho.
Congrats to @itsonlykotsy.bsky.social for "going viral" with a photo of the new grandstands. I wouldn't have an issue sitting there, beyond the eye-watering ticket prices.
Title for me. Thumbnails are just bait to get me to read what the title is.
100 Roehampton Avenue -- most important building in Toronto.
Grade 5 civics classes should be taken here on field trips. There should be a heritage plaque.
One of the nicest stations, great pictures in the fine snow. Love the compositions.

Those two days of Luminato were packed with amazing acts and sights. Tim Hecker controlling music and a laser show also stood out for me. I remember arriving right at doors for day 2 because I wanted to explore as many nooks and crannies as I could. Sadly it was the last time I got to be inside..
SUNN O))) playing on a fog filled stage inside Toronto's Hearn generating station for Luminato 2016. photo by me stitched up of two horizontal pictures.
If there are any SUNN O))) fans on my feed, I just saw they're playing a warehouse event in Toronto on April 14th.
The only time I've seen them was inside Hearn, a mothballed power plant that reverberated to their seismic field of noise so much I was starting to worry about its integrity.
Downtown Reveal
this is an exquisite bit, made only better by the fact that much of the audience is clearly baffled
This appears to be a made-up quote. Literal "fake news".
That stretch along Queen between Greenwood and Woodfield may be a slow order zone? The streetcar has been crawling along that section when going eastbound for months, like its trying to avoid derailing over all the switches. Maybe @photoblair.bsky.social knows whats up?
Had my first pint of Real Ale at the Crown Posada many years back during a trip from Canada. Delicious and what an interesting space.
Did a raccoon write this??
nice composition with all the lines and intersections. Your eye is sharp lately - the Mercedes one too.
Worth your time to click through Luis's recent posts to see the process, setups and then the amazing final result.

I remember the same damn bylaw when I was a kid in the 80s limiting stores and i presume bars to only two arcade games. So dumb.
listening to Tycho's new single, Forge while I work on photos.
