It felt great to @standupforscience.bsky.social today in LA! I learned more about SB 895, a $23 billion USD state bill to fund California Science & Health Research. Make sure to vote for it in November! shorturl.at/JVIsm π§ͺπ
But perhaps something like "In the land of Languages" by Akira Okrent, a reminder of individuals like emmy noether impact on abstract algebra

Is more suited recomendations
Many people are recommending books by feminist authors and i admit when it comes to that my default is always bell hooks especially "the will to change" because of her recognition of intersectionality and how it impacts us even if we are privledged in some ways
I was reminded it was womens history month. In honor of that, i want to name drop all my Aunts who inspired me by being scientists, film industry leaders and community organizers as well as my mother as someone who has fought for rights as a lawyer and innovation around RA analysis.
I just find these demonstrations of social boundaries especially when it comes to how things are percieved as sexual or gender releated interesting especially when they are demonstrated not through a liberal social lense but instead like this through tradiationalist lenses
I was just in a server I am in that has some conservative members. these conservatives are all from differenr countries. Non sexual cheek kissing in the middle east came up. The american reacted to it seeing it as homosexual but other conservative pounced on him because for them it wasnt sexual
We're in a very healthy political environment where everything is accused of being either a secret plot by far-right billionaire tech oligarchs or by the CCP. I'm lucky enough to regularly get accused of both.
Tbh i would order this for a curry. You never actually get enough rice for a curry.

About what we would probabily actually feel if say Iran killed Trump randomly. We would be like. Thanks but dont start a war with us.
Depends what you mean by in favour of it. There is peoples feelings about the deposition of the regime versus the war itself within some of the servers i have that have more iranian membership. They dont like Trump or the US starting a war. They do like the Ayatollah gone.

But if you have better resources feel free to provide.
And that includes more people do also need to educate themselves on the harm and history of the n word too just as it includes more people educating themselves on tourettes
I understand this mean a lot for you, but also understand this means a lot for disabled people including black disabled people too and that there is harm being done there too. Ultimately there is more we have intersectional solidarity on and also more we need to educate ourselves on equally

Everyone should remember the people most affected by thks is the people who are from both communties and we do need to always educate ourselves more on botj
Though i think one aspect we are closer to on is it seems both of us agree it is a situation where we think the harms of both need to be acknowledged. Your earlier statement sounds like you at least get that
We can acknowledge and educate ourselves on the harms of both as well as criticize bafta but it is a both situation
Honestily i didnt expect you to comment on this. I expected you to be the one making the ableist joke. But we do have to remember this harms every on both sides and even most those who come from both

But convince me that Coprolalia justifies segregation. Afterall in function anyone with Coprolalia would be a risk using your logic to society because they simply might have the n word tic. Simply for saying words involuntary without hate we should segregate them more than we do actual racists?
We accomdate both sides not ban a whole group of people such as within a range. John Davidson was all the way in the back and people are calling for individuals with tourettes to be muzzled. While i can agree accomdations do have limits, i would disagree we approach a point justifying segregation
Metadehumanization does not need to turn into blantant dehumanization and both sides have this problem when we can havs more solidarity exactily because if the intersectional community with black disabled people. We need to learn moee about both

i hate to say it but what Dean Cole said does help to spread misinformation(also so does the SNL sketch), and helps to functionally justify how people have sought to use this event to oppress the tourettes community including the black tourettes community who have spoken back aganist both sides
We have to acknowledhw both harms
I mean thw thing is, those black creators with tourettes have highlighted both how ableist dean cole and others are being as well as the racism because they have to deal with both. Ableist arent getting off by pleading racism and neither are racist by pleading ableism
