What this letter from Idaho Sec of State really says is: We don’t trust the federal govt and won’t comply in advance.
Our case exposed the Trump-Vance admin mishandled sensitive Social Security data. Now, state govts are questioning & refusing data demands that the admin has no legal basis to make.
In America, voters choose their leaders - not the other way around.
As CEO @skyeperryman.bsky.social assures ABC News, any attempts by the Trump-Vance admin to undermine U.S. elections will be met with swift legal action in court.

We fought this unlawful rule by the Trump-Vance admin once, and today – we’re doing it again.
We filed a brief urging the court to block this attempt to strip commercial drivers' licenses from noncitizens and needlessly disrupt essential public services that millions rely on.
We’re suing to block new Trump-Vance administration policies that target immigrants, refugees, and asylum seekers based on their country of origin.
These discriminatory policies effectively halt asylum, freeze work permits and green cards, and leave millions already in the U.S. in legal limbo.
If Trump is serious about ending Noem’s tenure, DHS should immediately reverse her decisions to:
**put ICE in schools, hospitals, and houses of worship
**make it harder for people fleeing autocratic nations to seek asylum
**deprive people of due process
Until then, we will still be in court.
We have sued countless times over Kristi Noem's lawlessness at DHS, fighting back – and winning – against her agency's constitutional violations and abuses of power.
So we finally agree with President Trump on one thing: Kristi Noem’s tenure was an abject failure.
Trailblazing labor, civil, and women’s rights activist Dolores Huerta joined us to do what she does best: call on people to fight for a better world.

The Trump-Vance admin’s new rule is a destructive attempt to remake the federal workforce and undermine worker protections.
So we’re suing on behalf of public service organizations and unions to defend the federal workers who tirelessly serve the people of our nation.
More dysfunction from the Trump-Vance administration today. And now, we have been granted permission to depose Secretary Kristi Noem and other officials. The truth will come out.
“The Justice Department should be ashamed of itself with this proposed settlement, which asks a court to sign off on a resolution that could cause greater harm to communities instead of the justice they deserve. Democracy Forward is honored to represent this coalition.” - @skyeperryman.bsky.social
Instead of providing restitution to the consumers targeted in the scam, the proposed settlement by the Trump-Vance administration unlawfully funnels $20 million toward increased immigration enforcement in the communities where those consumers reside.
In 2023, the CFPB and DOJ sued Colony Ridge for targeting tens of thousands of Hispanic borrowers with false statements and predatory loans.
Roughly 1-in-4 Colony Ridge loans ended in foreclosure, but the company “repurchased” the properties from itself to sell again to unsuspecting new borrowers.
On behalf of a coalition of civil rights and immigration advocates, we’re urging a Texas court to reject a proposed DOJ settlement that would put $20M toward immigration enforcement — instead of to Hispanic families targeted by predatory housing schemes.
People hurt by scams deserve help from the government, not greater harm.
Here's what to know about our latest case ⬇️
If the White House is embarrassed about the headlines yesterday of its retreat, it will be *really* embarrassed when it loses across the board on appeal. The First Amendment (among others) prohibits targeting these firms. And the President should quit before he gets further behind.
Despite 95% of Americans supporting a merit-based, nonpartisan civil service, the Trump-Vance administration would prefer to make hiring decisions based on an individual's political allegiance to the president.
So we’re fighting back in court.
The Trump-Vance admin is weaponizing the Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program to silence govts and non-profit orgs that do work the admin doesn’t like.
We filed a brief representing over 130 orgs urging the court to block this unlawful attempt to politicize student loan forgiveness.
WIN: A court ordered AGAIN that the Trump-Vance admin must allow members of Congress to access detention centers without notice — even during a lapse in govt appropriations.
As this admin detains more people than ever, elected officials must be able to investigate conditions & ensure accountability
While a court of appeals ruled in a different case that a data-sharing agreement between the IRS and ICE was not unlawful on paper, that ruling didn't even address the actual data sharing that happened last summer.
The actual data sharing is still prohibited because of our case.
FACT CHECK: This is false. We secured a court order prohibiting the IRS from mass sharing taxpayer data with ICE.
We will keep fighting to protect these children, and hundreds like them, from being subjected to this cruel and unlawful policy.
Renesme, 16, lived with her father for two years before she was followed home and re-detained without explanation.
She is a volleyball player and junior ROTC member who hopes to serve in the U.S. military after she graduates, but she worries she'll now have to repeat a grade.
Benito, 17, was detained weeks before Christmas and separated from his aunt.
His aunt can't reapply to sponsor him because she can't meet the new ID requirements. Benito, seeking foster care placement, will likely remain in government custody until he’s 18.
Mario, 17, lived a peaceful life with his mother. He longs to taste her cooking and watch his baby brother grow up.
But to get out of detention, he's considering foster care placement; his mother doesn't have the type of U.S.-issued ID newly required as part of the sponsorship application.
Diego, 14, was detained in November following a traffic stop. He misses his family and school.
A case manager told Diego's father in January that his re-application was ready for approval. But now ORR is forcing him to complete a DNA test and attend an in-person appointment they refuse to schedule.
We filed suit on behalf of children being unlawfully kept in custody by the Trump-Vance admin's Office of Refugee Resettlement.
These kids had approved sponsors before being re-detained and are now forced to navigate impossible requirements to be reunited with their families. Read their stories. ⬇️
This Women’s History Month, we honor the well-known heroines and the unsung women who have been – and always be – an indispensable part of our nation’s story.
And we'll continue using every legal tool available to achieve equal protection, equal opportunity, and equal pay for all women in America.
BREAKING: We’re suing to block the Trump-Vance admin's policy ordering the mandatory arrest and potentially indefinite detention of lawfully admitted refugees.
The administration is using its failure to process green card applications to target refugees for deportation. We will see them in court.
Cynthia breaks down the latest in our case to block the $100,000 H-1B fee after a court hearing in Oakland, California.
