Spectacular. The drop in your monthly payments from pre-gfc must have been £££££££
I’m trying not to use hindsight to beat myself up about not getting a 10yr fix

We’re on 1.06% 😭😭😭
I read that article, which got me thinking! I’m just under 6m out so time to start fishing around
My upcoming mortgage renewal is not impressed

Phase 2 of ACL prehab commences: Game Ready cold compression machine is a go go
It’s so cold it’s hard to describe. Like an ice bath for my leg
Excuse the stuff everywhere, that’s just life
Have to sit here for next 30 mins, can’t be arsed polishing up for social media. Like my posts in general
Kebab for lunch means you’re doing your bit to stop the old age benefit bill getting too crippling 🤣
Although by the 2070s that would mean a huge % of the population would be higher rate tax payers?
Not saying it can’t/wont happen, I’m just following the logic
It’s a banging feeling. I love it. Huge endorphin rush when I come out the other side too
Virtually high five-ing myself, bobbing my head, and saying “yes, this if fking awesome”, sometimes to myself, sometimes out loud
Those moments are why I think I’d keep working even if I could afford not to
I wasn’t following you over there, good nudge to do so!
I was the same. Mine was a Sunday-only round so I think I only got paid about £2.50 a week
Next job was in a clothes shop for £2.38/hour
Also worked as a kitchen porter/dishwasher for £1.50/hour! One week I worked 24 hours and got paid £36…
Not everything was better back in the 90s 🤣
That’s a shame
“My kids don’t like paprika so I used oven chips instead”
I’ll try that next time I make chilli con carne
Incentives drive behaviours
Charlie Munger couldn’t have scripted it better
I can see it from my kids’ perspective.
They just see me staring at the screen and accuse me of double standards
Me arguing that it’s important news I’m reading doesn’t appease them (and also it increases the risk I go on places like Bluesky so they have a point)
🛢️Schroders oil price estimates:
4-5 week disruption: $100-120/barrel
Lasts months: $150-200/bbl, new all-time highs

Maybe that’s about me being disciplined and avoiding the temptation to click on them but even seeing the headline and deciding whether it’s an article I want to read takes some of the pleasure out of reading a paper with fresh eyes
Do you do it in Edinburgh though? We used to get the Sunday times delivered when in London but they only did it in the m25
Another issue for physical is that lots of the weekend articles get released online before the weekend so I find I’ve seen lots of them before the print edition comes out
We tried to get a Sunday paper delivered
1. Hard to find anywhere that still does this
2. Would only deliver by 8.45. Do school kids still do this?! Lazy so and sos
3. Charged £2/week for delivery
Thought might send a signal to our kids about physical reading vs screens but resorted to the app
Train stations and airports for last minute snacks
But at kings x I’d go to mini Waitrose instead so even then it’s losing out
My son likes to get the simpsons magazine before a long train journey but that must be a limited market
I was running 40-50 miles/week before the injury so I’m got a strong starting point
That may mitigate the need for extra work?
A few people have mentioned strength work pre-op but he didn’t say anything about it and I forgot to ask (he works with professional sportspeople so knows his stuff)
🤣 my son made choc chip cookies yesterday which will be excellent for morale if not my waistline
I am *very* much looking forward to a full afternoon of 6 nations rugby next Saturday, which I can justifiably dedicate myself to
In some slightly more positive news, just saw my consultant who told me the brace could come off
MRI confirmed I basically have no ACL left so surgery getting booked in
I’ve also been told I need to get the swelling down first so time for RICE/lie on the sofa and get the kids to wait on me
Severance. Starts slow but really interesting concept
If you’re ever in Edinburgh, The Palmerston is a wonderful wonderful restaurant (food, service, ambience, the lot) that does £21 for 2 courses, £24 for 3

I presume you also had a go at banter efforts at monetary policy, just to see…?
Presumably the problem with sims like this is that it ends up following the orthodoxy of whomever programmed if?
Because it’s a rules based program so the programmer sets the rules
At stock picking or Zelda?
Do you mean European value or is this a computer game? 🤣
