US-Israel war with Iran: B-1 Lancer bomber lands at RAF Fairford The aircraft is the fastest bomber in the US Air Force and is piloted by a crew of four.

As the Americans land B1 bombers at RAF Fairford, President Trump is promising a relentless assault. We are being drawn into an offensive war. The PM must spell out to Parliament what constitutes a β€œdefensive” operation and the limits on the use of our bases.

Democracy in danger: why the government must restore the Electoral Commission’s full independence - Spotlight on Corruption A fully independent Electoral Commission is critical to ensuring the integrity of UK elections, and maintaining public confidence that elections are run fairly.

πŸŽ‰ Really positive news coming from parliament that the government will scrap the Strategy and Policy Statement for the @electoralcommission.org.uk.
⚠️ We previously warned about the risks of keeping the statement in place in our report, Democracy in Danger 🧡 ⬇️

Ed Davey quote which reads:
No matter how the Prime Minister tries to redefine offensive as defensive, letting the US use UK bases for strikes on Iran is a slippery slope.

He must not let Trump drag Britain into another prolonged war in the Middle East.

Starmer must come to Parliament, set out the legal case in full, and give MPs a vote.

We have a duty to defend our brave British troops and citizens in the region, and that must be the focus of any operations. The UK must not be complicit in illegal military action.

Yup. It’s what Putin did. It’s what Orban did. It’s what so many of us warned Trump would do and were called hysterics. It’s heartbreaking.

It's time centrists join in to ensure the economy can sustain them and their grandchildren will thrive.

Reform are exposed by Brexit's wrecking ball. Don't let Reform kid you breaking anything else is an answer.

Enough?

LibDems have most answers but Farage's mate Trump shows more rot is possible.

Shame you think an economy 4% plus below our counterparts - even counting in all the other shocks - is good enough.

The only way to increase GDP is sustainably and only the EU provides a big enoug market for successful just transition to make it worthwhile for investors. That's CU immediately.

By refusing to even consider a customs union, Keir Starmer himself is the biggest block to closer ties with Europe.

Unless he changes that stance, this is all just meaningless blather

Zelenskyy: β€œIt is wrong to assume that this is a permanent arrangement, that others can stay safe behind Ukraine forever.

β€œUkrainians are people, not Terminators.”

Zelenskyy: β€œPutin does not live like ordinary people. He cannot imagine life without powerβ€”or after power. Normal things do not interest him.

β€œPutin consults more with Tsar Peter and Empress Catherine about territorial gains than with any living person about real life.”

This ruling shows that proscribing Palestine Action was a grave misuse of terrorism laws.

Labour must accept its mistake, drop its appeal and stop wasting taxpayers' money on suppressing civil liberties.

Phew! I've bitten my tongue, questioned in chat. Ticked off because once this law is enacted we're talking national security and I agreed. But seeing why jailed - it was clearly wrong.

The Met must deal with bad acting individually. Too easy not to distinguish bad from demo.

Has it let off US?

Stress is out of control - and it's time to force employers to act Work-related stress is now the biggest health and safety problem facing working people. But the real scandal isn’t just how bad stress has become. It’s that employers are breaking the law by failing…

Did you know that 964,000 workers reported work-related stress, depression or anxiety in 2024/25 – up from 776,000 the year before?

Health workers used to say about one in four people suffered mental health issues at some point in their lives, now it's one in two of us.

The answer is improving fairness. That needs a strong economy to afford good mental health care.

Ukraine's joining EU in 2027, when's UK?

Kyiv.
Sunday evening.
russia is attacking us with ballistic missiles for the second time today.

I just wonder if there’s anything left in our energy infrastructure that hasn’t been destroyed yet.

dump/bondi/ blanche are still not obeying the law. I wish a judge would appoint a Special Master. Then the Master would hire many lawyers to help him go through the files, redact the victims names, but then release them as batches to the public. It is time for the public to see the files.

08.02.2026 20:24 πŸ‘ 95 πŸ” 11 πŸ’¬ 4 πŸ“Œ 0

Who knew? Rather than argue for blanket release, US courts can appoint a Special Master in active litigation to review contested documents? Judge appointed in a live case creates judicial oversight, protects victims, due process and avoids trial-by-media. More serious than outrage. I had to ask.

Some peace talk follow up!
Not for the first time.

Putin is a poacher. Zelensky needs reinforcement to protect his flocks.

And more weapons to remove the Kremlin Gremlin from Ukraine by force and wall him into his wasted dominion.

Scratching my head at what's happening in US. Trump is worrying. Money behind him even more because it is hidden in Heritage Foundation that's here in the UK backing Farage and some Tories. A handful of rich, yes 'mad' (to us) unelected, unchallenged people taking us for a ride - where to if not EU?

I took an offline day.
Realised I was simply tired, humanly tired.
And then I read the news about russian strikes on a maternity hospital and a bus with miners.

Pure evil.

We're all there with you on those vile attacks.

I overdid it on data of Russian losses in 2022 and found a break away useful. Others stepped up.
Now every break brings new perspective.

If we watch each other's backs, Putin will reach the Intl Criminal Court.

Terrifying read Bear of how quickly the US has been turned into a country we no longer recognise as the land of the free. What scares me more is that it’s also happening here in full sight of our government and being promoted by journalists from organisations we used to trust.

It's President @realDonaldTrump's tacit acceptance of loss of 30,000 Russian lives a month as well as allied Ukrainian lives in Putin's meat grinder that's worst!

Arm Ukraine to the teeth. Run Russia out of all Ukraine. Turn Putin's gifts to oligarchs on him. Stop shadow fleet sanctions busting oil
