That said, I may consider opening up for some low-stress commissions later this month. I've been on an unpaid PLOA for all of Feb, so def need to replenish some cash. Stuff like toon headsets and full-body pieces w/no more than 2 OCs. If you've been wanting art from me, you may get your chance soon!

Life update: Still not fully okay after losing my boyfriend to cancer, but I’m slowly finding my footing again. Things are more manageable lately and I'm no longer sleeping for 12 hours. Thank you guys for the kindness and patience while I continue to heal

That's always been my experience too! Seems I feel more refreshed in the morning getting just 5 hours of sleep vs a full 8

Indeed, social media exposure is as random as the flip of a coin. Likes doesn't really bother me too much, though, just as long as people genuinely like what we do! Honestly really look forward to receiving comments more than the numbers my stuff brings in

I feel you! I'm a big introvert and never really like having a lot of spotlight on me like that. I genuinely just want to share toons and gush about other similar interests, as yourself, and that's all! I'm not the biggest social media person niether, so I get that

It feels that way at times. We are unfortunately being compared to our other fellow artists' performance and all it does it makes us feel self-concious. Least it does for me lol, can't speak for anyone else

But yeah, I know what you mean. Honestly people should still want to connect for YOU, not just for your art. We can still keep in touch with people during creative blocks, but it can feel like people drift off after a while if we're taking a break so I understand

I know you've been dealing with your arm pain for quite a while and drf can sympathize :C Glad you were able to find a way to be creative again with 3D modeling, you've been making some cool stuff!

Hard agree with this. People start to automatically think something is wrong if we're not posting art every single day and then ask why. You've rarely felt that type of pressure to perform well on actual gallery sites

I think the biggest damage to the art community was the obsolescence of gallery sites (y!, deviantart, etc) and the rise of scroll-by social media, like twitter and even tumblr. Art is not ''content'', you shouldnt need to post art every day (or every month!) to be relevant. This mindset sucks.

Yeah, it came REALLY fast. Nobody was really prepared for it :( It's an important lesson to spend as much time as you can with your family and friends, cause you never know when they'll be done at the blink of an eye.
