I didnt go on to win, I think the fact that when the lead choreographer asked what my plans were and my answer wasn’t “touring Europe with a dance company” like everyone else and instead was “I’m going to study history at university” didn’t help.

I was a finalist for “young choreographer of the year” (twice but could only make it to London once), it involved a day of coming up with choreography for some Royal Ballet dancers at the Royal Opera House, and then an interview with the then lead choreographer at the Royal Ballet.

So much stuff we see in games is curated in a way that means we often hear the same voices again and again. Those voices have huge value of course, but what I really like is that this was an open call so it means you get much more variety in perspectives from all different levels of experience.
